Going Three

Seven days from now, hubby and I will be celebrating our third year wedding anniversary. It has been three years when I promised Mon that I will stand by him and submit myself to him in front of God, our relatives and friends.

Many things have changed since then. But there are certain things that remain the same. I do my best to live up to the covenant we vowed into three years ago. I admit that I’m far from perfect, we are far from perfect. But having Mon by my side makes me pursue this work in progress even more. I know in time, we’ll be able to achieve the life we wanted to live for us, and for our children. Until that time, and even after that, I promise, Be, that I will live up to our covenant, to our vows.

I’m not very good with words, you know that. I’m not very good in writing. But I hope somehow, you feel, through this post, how much I am thankful to you for being the husband that you are for the past three years.

Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary, Monay!

Random Things I Miss Doing

… when I’m just home and alone.

  • Listen to good music the whole day.

Back in my college years, I would turn on our component as soon as I wake up, pump up the volume until it feels right – not to loud but not to soft either. My class starts at 2PM so I have all my morning on my own. That’s about 4-5 hours non-stop sound tripping. This is when I started to appreciate R n B music. My radio would always be turned to Wave 89.1 even on Wednesdays when they play music from the past. This is also the time when I knew almost every R n B music out there.

I miss those days when I can play music as loud as I want while I let my thoughts out. It was very seldom that I feel I was noisy then. I was that care-free before.

One of these days, I’ll be able to do some sound tripping again. scuba diving

  • General cleaning.

Yes, I used to clean our whole house on my own. It’s been a while since I did this even for the house where I and my family live now.

There are days when I think to myself that having a helper, who does things even those you don’t tell her to do, makes a person lazy. And when a person gets lazy, that person losses the opportunity to exercise at home and shed off unnecessary fats. Yep, I’m speaking for myself.

Apart from exercising, this also gives me the joy of finding buried treasures. I remember this is how I found where I stored my elementary friends’ letters. This is also how I found old photos and books that I have been looking for.

And the ultimate joy general cleaning gives me is that feeling that I see a clean house out of my own labor. Don’t you just feel proud when you see the house you just cleaned? scuba diving

  • Movie marathon.

I am no movie-goer. I don’t get to see movies on their screening dates. If I did, that probably happened around thrice a year. More often than not, I get to see movies I like watching on the silver screen only when someone asks me to go with them. I haven’t tried going to a movie house by myself.

That explains why I have several pirated DVDs with multiple movies. I know I should not be patronizing pirated. On days when I don’t have anything planned and all my siblings are nowhere, I watch these DVDs for hours until my eyes get tired or until I get bored. love smileys

  • Sleep all day.

Do I really need to explain this further? When was the last time you slept the whole day without being disturbed? I get to sleep half-day without being disturbed. mad smileys

Words of a Two Year Old

This was supposed to be posted yesterday…

The past weekend went well. We had to go back in LP again after July 18 visit because we’re celebrating our Nanay Isay’s 85th birthday.

The birthday celebration was a blast! I met a cousin whom I last saw when he was just about 5 years old and I was… never mind. free image hosting We were both part of our Tito Noel’s and Tita Chique’s bridal entourage.

Apart from Herbert, I also met my Kuyas, who both now have their own families! Quota na sila! Both of them have 2 kids already – a boy and a girl. Ours, it’s part of the roadmap. free image hosting

We were in LP at around 1PM and the celebration officially started at around 7PM and ended at midnight. It was tiring but fun.

On our way to my mom’s place, I vowed that we’ll just sleep the whole Sunday morning. I know, I thought of that already. It has been two weeks since I last heard the Sunday mass. Bad. So we slept the whole morning. I woke up at 10AM because I had to go to the bathroom but I intend to go back to sleep. Unfortunately, both hubby and Ayex were already awake when I returned to our room.

Both hubby and I are still lying on the bed while Ayex sat beside hubby. We are still very lazy. After a while Ayex bluntly said Asan na yung bag ko?! (Where is my bag?). Tuwid na tuwid yung pagkasabi niya na talagang natawa kami! (She said it very clearly that we laughed out of amusement). She is referring to my used-to-be lunch bag/milk bag, which she now use as her toy storage. Ayex is really growing too fast that she has new words to say everyday.

Sunday went by. We killed the time by watching local channels as we don’t have cable TV in LP. Gab and I were supposed to go to the salon for some treatment but it started raining. Soon it was time to go home.

Good thing we left LP earlier than usual. By the time we reached Trinoma, it was raining very hard and traffic is jammed! We reached home safe. After dinner, we didn’t bother to watch TV anymore. Mon, Ayex and I lie on our bed while playing. Ayex was moving from side to side while saying random words. I can’t understand most of them as her voice is low. Then she said this loud and clear: Mahal ko si Mommy Nicquee (I love Mommy Nicquee). My heart melted. I asked what was that and she happily said it again.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
