Christmas is Nearing

In this country where I live in, Christmas time officially starts at the onset of -BER months, which is September. Noticeably, traffic becomes heavier and the malls become more crowded. And during these months, my belief that my country is not poor becomes stronger because everyone seems to be very busy looking for that perfect christmas gifts 2011 for their loved ones. If we go to the mall at this time of the year, parking slots are scarce, even if we go at lunch time, just two hours after the mall opening.

I am just glad that technology made its way. Secure online shopping can be done to avoid traffic, long lines in the cashier, rubbing elbows with other shoppers, and even missing kids in a crowded place. The choices are huge and delivery of gifts can be customized, what more could I ask for?

I should really finish my list, work more for the moolah then start shopping.

S&R Alabang Supports Bring Your Own Bag

Last July 31, we went to S&R Alabang and celebrated my moms birthday there. After eating some delicious new york style pizza, we did their grocery shopping.

Upon check out, I noticed that the cashier are putting our stuff on half-cut cartons. Then I saw a signage that says something similar to Muntinlupa bans the use of plastic bags. I was ecstatic! You see, I am trying to limit our plastic bag usage too that is why I always carry ecobags with me wherever I go. And going to a place that fully support bring your own bag advocacy makes me really happy and giddy.

This is how our groceries look like. I feel like we shopped somewhere abroad like in the foreign TV shows.

Tips on helping the environment

Aside from Muntinlupa, I know Lusiana, Laguna also bans plastic bag usage. If these places can do it, I am sure others can follow. I wish Quezon City will be next.

Learning the Hard Way

Recently, I had so many boo boos due to my carelessness. There were petty fights that resulted to it and now, I hassled people. It does not feel good, I am telling you. Maybe this is a subtle way of telling me that I should start reading again to practice my comprehension skills.

If there is one thing I would like to inherit from my father, that would be his ability to SAY NO without feeling guilty afterwards. He is so good with it. At least that is how he appears to me.

I really find it hard to decline at something without feeling bad afterwards. If I do not feel guilty, I feel really sad. The only time I feel ok after declining something is when I turn down those who kept on offering credit cards and various flyers of houses and whatnots.

I should learn this skill quick because oftentimes, it leads me to doing things I do not really want to do thus making me careless and the cycle goes on and on.
