August is World Breastfeeding Month

I only learned about the celebration of breastfeeding month when my former colleague and nursing room buddy, Mommy Bing, told me that Mommy Matters Nursing Wear is looking for someone to model their clothes in the culminating event last year. I breastfed Ayex for three years yet I did not know about such celebrations and I thought I was informed. Hahaha!

Now, I am exclusively breastfeeding Maxyn for a year already. I am proud of myself and I owe it to my support group. Sometimes, I want to believe those who tell me that they do not have breastmilk that is why they opt for formula. But I guess even a little, I am informed, and I know that is not true.

As we celebrate the World Breastfeeding Month this August 2011, may more moms be encouraged to give the best and feed their young with natural — breastmilk. And if you have time, go and check out these activities in line with this celebration.

PMS-ing

I have been offline since Friday and I am glad I was. There was too much negativity around the blogosphere last weekend and if I was online, it will just add to my negative feelings, which was around me since last week.

I do not know why but I have this no-so-happy-feeling in me. Is it due to my inactivity around the blogosphere? Is it because I am missing my friends? I really do not know. Ah, maybe it is the lack of opp$$$…

Maybe I should go on a retail therapy soon. Maybe I should buy myself a new bag or shoes or jewelry. No clothes please for now because I am working on my weight, hoping I will lose some pound before we hit Boracay.

Good vibes, please hit me now. And bring with you lots of tasks.

My Most Memorable Birthday

It was memorable yet I cannot remember exactly what year it happened. I just remember what happened that day. Pardon the epidural effect. Anyway.

I was born in October, a month that belongs to the rainy season. My mom said there was a typhoon when she gave birth to me so since the time I can already understand things, I knew it would always rain on my birthday. In fact, I get lonely when it does not happen early. I never had a birthday where it did not rain.

This birthday, there was a typhoon. It was a strong one. We woke up with the sound of strong wind whistling above us for we did not know, our roof was already blown away. The cold air has entered our home that was why we did not notice that there was no electricity. It was nearly lunch and my mom is ready to cook my spaghetti when just after the pan got hot, the fire on the stove died. We do not have LPG anymore. I and my older brother went out to buy one because it is the only way we can cook food. The nearby stores were either closed or out of stock. We cannot go home without one and so we decided to go to the nearest Petron station in our area. If you are familiar, the distance of the gas station from our home is like Robinson’s Galleria to Boni. The jeepney was also scarce at that time so we just walked. Good thing we do not have to carry the LPG tank as we have a trolley to carry it. At the end of the day, we were able to eat my spaghetti, the electricity was restored as well as our roof.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
