Several Appeals

  • To those who drive

When you go out of the road, please always bear in mind your family, your passengers and their family and yourself, of course.

Today, on my way to work. I saw another accident along Katipunan, in front of Ateneo. It involves a motorcycle and another car. The motorcycle rider is under the the car and I’m not sure if the person is still alive. I pray that he/she is.

Imagine, it is just a few weeks before Christmas. Let us not allow unhappy events because this should be a merry season. I know everyone is in a rush but that does not suppose to mean we should risk our safety and let our loved ones worry. Please everyone, be very careful when you drive, be mindful of others and bring with you lots of patience. Pray before you leave your driveway, it will help you.

A Day in a Commuter’s Life

I am one lucky person today!

The number coding for buses started today. The members of IMBOA went on strike and only very few buses operated to show their disapproval of this new law. Because of that, many commuters got stranded and became late for their work.

On Mondays, hubby usually drives me to work since he didn’t work the night before. Today, I didn’t wake him up because he appears to be very sleepy to me. He did so many chores yesterday so I decided to commute. When I reached Tandang Sora, I got shocked when I saw a see of people waiting for a ride. My destination is just a 5-minute ride including traffic but all the jeepneys were full and even have sabit. I didn’t know there was a transport strike. I almost told myself I took the wrong move but lucky me, I got a ride after a few minutes of waiting under the sun.

At Philcoa, the shuttles were still there and were not affected of the strike. The driver was tuned in to an AM station where I learned about the strike. I got worried that I’ll have a hard time going home tonight because the buses might still not operate.

When I reached Galleria after work, there were more buses than what I saw this morning. The thing is, all of them are very full. I walked towards the Ortigas MRT station hoping to get a ride and I didn’t fail. There were no more vacant seats so I had nk other choice but to stand up. The bus was not very full yet and you can still move unlike the others. Keri lang. I was confident that I will be able to seat when I reach Cubao. I was right.

Over-all, today’s commute was ordinary for me. I didn’t ran after the buses just to get a ride and my travel time was the same. I am a lucky person because the strike didn’t affect me much. Thank God!

Tomorrow is a holiday, another bonding time with hubby and the girls. I hope we can get Ayex her ballet shoes already for her class on Friday.

Second Day in RBC

Here are the bits and pieces of how my day went.

  • Commute to work was again easy for me this morning.
  • Gabby paid me a visit. Actually, he accompanied his friend, Michael, who is applying in our office. I hope he gets the job!
  • I had lunch at North Park with some of my teammates, plus my boss, plus Gabby and Michael. The food was ok but their service is kind of poor. One of the dishes we ordered arrived very late and we had to follow up several time, even for the water.
  • I discovered the joys of banking in the BDO in our building lobby through Gabby. I am in a meeting and Gabby is just bumming around the area while waiting for Michael so I asked her to do the banking for me. (That was a long sentence.)

  • I left the office a little late because I uploaded the photos of the bags we’re selling in Facebook.
  • The MRT ride on my way home tired me big time! I take the train in Shaw Boulevard station. This is the 7th station from base and I go home during the rush hour so the train is quite jam-packed already. Since it is already rush hour, getting inside the train is quite hard because it is already full and everyone still wants to get in. The fastest way to get inside is to position near the door and let the people behind you push you because they too want to get in.

Anyway, before we reach the next station, we suddenly stopped. The operator said there is a defective train in front of us and they’re currently fixing it. I and the other passengers stood for an extra 20 minutes. I have two bags in tow (my bag and my milk container) and is wearing a wedge sandals. Now my feet are hurting. Why can’t MRT be a reliable mode of transportation?!

I’m just glad I’m home now with my girls. How about you? I hope this day was good to you.
