Maxyn turns 5 months today

Our baby is not so baby anymore. *teary-eyed*

We attended Sati’s 1st birthday celebration last Saturday at Jollibee, Roosevelt and she was mistaken to be 9 months old because she is a big baby. Mommy Iris carried for a while and she kept on saying how heavy Maxyn is.

Here are Maxyn’s milestones that keep me amazed and thankful.

* Talks more and more.

* Can now stay on her side longer.

* Can already move to her tummy without putting weight on her hand.

* Walks when held upright on the floor.

* Stands straight.

* Thumb sucks even more.

* Has one tooth in her lower middle gum already (another one coming).

* Holds things with her grip longer.

* Recognizes faces and voices.

* Shows interest in food a lot.

* Has a sense of time.

Are You Always Online?

It is sad but I realized I’m guilty of this. I am so into the cyberworld that even on weekends, I try to go online to do things that I am unable to concentrate playing with Ayex. Maxyn is still ok since she sleeps most of the time in the day. When she’s awake, after feeding, either me or Ate Em takes care of her. Ayex is really the crucial part. being That is why I can’t blame her if sometimes she throws tantrums before I go to work.

I just remembered this because I read an article similar to this a few months back. I’m afraid I’m already neglecting Ayex because I’m always online. I feel bad about it that’s why, starting today, I will make it a point to just create scheduled posts for weekends so I can really maximize our play-time. Or I will just go online when both my girls are sleeping. I don’t want Ayex to feel neglected and I don’t want her to grow up remembering that I’m always working.

If you are always online, I hope you are still giving enough time for your family. We should choose when to multi-task and when to not.

Our Baby is Teething!

I noticed several weeks ago that Maxyn learned how to show a biting smile. I also noticed that there is a sharp feeling when I feed her. Last Saturday, I confirmed that her first tooth has erupted. Maybe that is also a reason why she becomes cranky every now and then. Aside from that, she’s perfectly normal.

Last Wednesday, I got a call from home. Ate Meriam said Maxyn has a slight fever and has been quiet the whole day. My initial reaction was to connect it with the teething, where Ate Meriam agreed. When I came home that night, Ate Meriam told me that looks like Maxyn has another tooth erupting, the second one at the bottom. I checked but I don’t see it yet.

I think my baby started teething pretty early. According to online sources the incisors would come out between 6-7 months and Maxyn is only turning 5 months on the 8th. I’m glad that apart from the slight fever and low appetite, she doesn’t have diarrhea like most babies experience.
