Maxyn turns 8 months today

Maxyn turns 8-month-old today. Just a few more months and we’ll have a toddler again in the house! I must start planning her first birthday celebration soon. But before I go into that, let me tell you about Maxyn’s milestones.

  • She eats solids once to twice a day. She has tried banana, broccoli, ampalaya leaves, french fries, potato, sweet potato, Cerelac Mixed Fruits, Cerelac Rice and Soya, spaghetti, carrots and mango to name a few. Her favorite is banana.
  • She now has 4 white sharp teeth, 2 in both upper and lower gums.
  • She can stay in sitting position while playing.
  • She plays with real toys.
  • She can make sounds using different objects.
  • She can go to her tummy from sitting position.
  • She can lift her upper body while on her sides.
  • She tries to stand on her own.
  • She shows interests in technical stuff like the laptop.
  • She can now say dede when she wants milk.

For her celebration, we will have spaghetti and some ice cream. I can’t just wait to go home! I better finish these reports and test cases now.

Happy Weekend!!!

Thank God It’s Friday is my YM status every Friday. Every week, I look up to weekends even if it just passed. For a working mom like me, I guess it is not surprising why I am always excited for weekends. Why am I excited anyway?

I am excited for weekends because of the following reasons.

Weekends are the only time I can bond with my girls without worrying about my schedule. It is the only time I can hear Ayex tell her stories as if she’s an adult. It is the time I get to hear her new words that left me wondering where she heard them. It is the only time I nurse Maxyn as long as she wants to. It is the only time I see her new milestones first hand. It is the only time I become a full-time and hands-on mom to my kids.

During weekends too, I have the chance to bond with my husband. He also works and has a schedule that is different from mine, so we really have very little time for each other. On selected weekends, we go out on an isaw and balut date. It’s a cheap date but really fun. Weekends also allow me to cook for my husband, which sometimes become our bonding since we both love to experiment in the kitchen.

My weekends can be more tiring at times unlike a typical work week when I am all glued to my desktop. Nevertheless, I still look forward to them because I know, weekends always make priceless memories.

How Much Breast Milk Should a 7-Month-Old Take?

Maxyn has been sickly since last week. She has colds and cough. Sometimes, she gets low grade fever too because of her teething. With that, you can imagine how my weekend went.

I was told that Maxyn hasn’t been taking much milk recently. From the 16-18oz of milk during the 9 hours that I am away from her, she just took around 12-13oz of milk last week. She has been eating solids since December and I know her milk consumption may decrease. But what I don’t know is how much decrease it would be. I am quite worried now that maybe Maxyn is eating too much solids that she becomes so full for milk.

Aside from her consumption in the 9 hours that I am away, I feed her directly for about 4-6 times round the clock.

Should I be worried?

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
