Maxyn turns 7 months

Thanks to Mommy Lace’s post, I was reminded that I haven’t posted this topic.

Maxyn turned 7 months-old last Saturday. I was not able to post this topic because 1) we went to the pediatrician last Saturday morning for Ayex’s check-up and Maxyn’s vaccination and 2) we went to my OB in the afternoon and spent the weekend in Las Pinas.

I just realized that we didn’t have any handa that day except for the Tropical Hut take homes. I guess it slipped my mind because we were on the road all afternoon plus I already cooked pasta on Friday for Ayex’s birthday. Or perhaps I intentionally didn’t buy any sweets because Ayex has a very bad cough.

Anyway, here are Maxyn’s milestones.

  • Can now roll from her back-tummy-back and vice versa.
  • Has visited Star City and rode two rides (Carousel and Fantasy/Magical Forest).
  • Can sit for a while without support.
  • Tries to reach things when on her tummy.
  • Shouts a lot.
  • Loves to pull her caregiver’s hair.
  • Eats solids 2-3 times a day.
  • Puts anything she has in her hand in her mouth.
  • Stays awake longer.
  • Stands in her walker.
  • Holds her bottle.
  • Drinks water from a cup.
  • Can stand alone with support for a while.

Maxyn turns 6 months today

Oh my! I’ve said this so many times in this blog before and I’ll say it again, time flies so fast!! As per my friend, Therese, regular na si Maxyn!

Last night, hubby and I were just texting about what food will be prepared for today as Maxyn turns 6 months. He wants spaghetti. I don’t like it though because I still feel umay of it. I woke up late today and really forgot to take a new picture of Maxyn for this post. Bummer! Maybe that was why she was so pacute to me this morning. Oh well, I’ll just replace this picture when I get home tonight with a fresh one. And I hope hubby does not forget that I want pancit bihon as Maxyn’s handa.

Anyway, moving on with Maxyn’s milestones.

  • She shows that she is an outdoor person. She regularly goes out in her Ate’s trike in the morning and in the afternoon for a stroll.
  • She now shows a little of separation anxiety.
  • She has started taking solids, two weeks ago. Her first food was mashed potatoes with breastmilk. She was introduced to sweet potatoes and liked it more.
  • She makes a way to get your attention by coo-ing and shouting. When I get home, I don’t greet her right-away. The other day, she cooed until I took her from her daddy.
  • She now has two front teeth at the bottom. We think her front tooth at the top are starting to come out too. When I give her milk and she’s not very hungry, she plays with her teeth. Ouchie!
  • Her grip is getting better. She can now pull our hair!
  • She stays on her tummy longer. She still can’t go back to lying position by herself.
  • Recognizes faces and voices more.
  • Stays awake longer.
  • She likes to sit down and sometimes manages to sit by herself for a few seconds.
  • She loves to walk.

Palmer’s Bottom Butter

I used Palmer’s Tummy Butter before to treat the stretch marks I got from my pregnancy. I can say that it worked as my marks lighten. I told my sister, Gabby, about it. She got convinced so she also bought one for her use. I think when she bought her’s, there was a promo. She got a free Palmer’s Bottom Butter, which she gave to me.

I was not able to use it for Ayex because when I got it, we just opened a new A+D anti-rash ointment. We only emptied the tube when Maxyn came as Ayex stopped using a nappy at age 2. So when we finally emptied our A+D, I decided to open this Palmer’s bottom butter.

I like this product because:

  • It smells great, like a sweet butter.
  • It is non-greasy.
  • It is not sticky.
  • It is locally available in department stores.
  • It is easy to apply.
  • It is easy to bring along.

The thing is, Maxyn is allergic to it. She developed rashes when I applied this on her bottom so we stopped using it. It’s just there at home waiting to be used again.

And since it is free, I’m not sure how much it costs. How about you, do you use an anti-rash cream/ointment too? What brand do you use?
