Friday Photo Flashback #4: Remembering Lolo

I missed the last two editions and I promised myself that I’ll be back this week.

Friday Photo Flashback

It’s been a while since I last visited my grandparents’ home in Pangasinan where we used to spend all our summer vacation. I can’t even remember why we stopped spending our summers there. Was it because my grandparents left for Guam? Did both of them go? I can’t really remember and I find it a little embarrassing to ask mom.

Anyway, as you may know, we remember are departed ones here in the Philippines at the start of November. It reminded me again that I haven’t been visiting my maternal grandfather and maternal great grandmother. This year I had a chance to visit the latter and it was quite an adventure. As for my Tatay Cesar, I hope I can visit him soon.

Tatay Cesar used to bring me to school in his owner type jeepney when I was in pre-school. And when Tatay Cesar was still alive, we had this rare chance of visiting Baguio as a whole family. I don’t think we were fortunate enough to do it again. And so, as I was digging my archive for a picture for today, and chanced upon the photo below, I thought it is perfect.

Friday Photo Flashback #3: 4th Grade

Friday Photo Flashback

Sometime last week, I received a text message from Jaja, one of my elementary classmates. He said Nicholsan aka Nikkie, another classmate and a super friend, is inviting on Sunday for dinner at their home. The dinner is an early celebration of Nikkie’s birthday, which is on October 12. It was really a good timing since we’re really LP-bound last weekend. The not so timing part is the dinner time as we’re already heading back to QC at late afternoon.

My plan was to bring Ayex to the mall so she can play with those fun arcade games that give us tickets, which we can exchange later for some cool prizes on Sunday after lunch. After that we’ll stop by Nickie’s place just to see her and have a little chit-chat. I’m happy that I was able to accomplish those as planned.

Ayex had so much fun playing at SM Storyland. My father, brother and sisters joined the fun too. My brother, Xen, was able to get two mini Mickey Mouse plush toys for Ayex like those you stick to your car mirror. She keeps them beside her all the time now and sometimes brings them with her to school.

Nickie and I have been friends since 4th grade. Every year, she gathers us all at their place when she celebrates her birthday. It’s one of those chances for all of to see each other again. I was not there last year so I promised her I’d make it up for this year. And I’m glad I did. I miss them so much. They’re one of those treasured friends I have. Too bad I didn’t get to meet our other friends as we really have to get going as it was getting late already.

Apart from these, my task that was due weeks ago is already done. I was finally able to get my old albums. And so, I have a new picture to share with you this week.

Can you spot me in this picture?

Friday Photo Flashback #2: Pre-school

Friday Photo Flashback

I’m so glad that it is Friday once more. I will be able to post those old and pre-digital day photos again. Thanks Alicia for hosting this. Want to join us? Just click the image above.

I don’t have my photo albums yet because Ondoy and Pepeng were here the past couple of weeks and we were unable to visit my parents at Las Pinas. Luckily, I remember I have older photos here at the office, which we used for our wedding video.

I’m not really sure how old he is in this picture nor when was it taken. I think I should build on that. I will make it a project to get to know hubby’s childhood more. All I knew is that when they were young, they have the best of the world.

So for me to be able to post the picture below, I has to know little details about first. I asked hubby and he doesn’t seem to bother why I was asking. MSN Smileys

Here’s what I gathered. The picture is taken from the 80s. Yep, Mon and I have a 7 years gap. Music Smileys From what I get, it was taken at school. He said this is probably his kindergarten graduation.

Isn’t he cute?

Hopefully I’ll be able to get my albums tomorrow as we’re spending the weekend at Las Pinas. Happy Friday everyone!

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
