Ways to Decorate a Turret Style Room

Turret rooms are gorgeous and speak of a time when things were more sophisticated but so much simpler. The Turret room harkens back to the days of the Victorian time in style and architecture this makes them fun to have for a room but hard to decorate because of the floor plan. The lack of corners makes it hard to put certain furniture into many of the turret rooms. On the other hand turret rooms make great libraries, home offices or sitting rooms. They are glamorous and can take you back to a much more majestic time. Below are some hints on how you can decorate the different types of turret rooms listed above.

While outdoor benches are perfect for the outside you don’t want them in your turret room. Choose a bench for indoor use and you can start to decorate your turret library room and be done before you know it. A library should be a peaceful place for refection and reading so the first thing you want to do is build bookshelves or buy bookshelves and line the walls with them. Line the bookshelves with wallpaper to match the walls in the room and then paint the bookcase itself a contrasting color.

Choose a fluffy and comfortable that is large and put it directly in the center of the room then put one large round table in the center of the room for a place to work at. After this is done make sure to get a bench for indoor use that can stack neatly under the table when you are done with it to allow for more space. Add some overhead light for easy reading plus a few lamps and a couple of easy chairs and you are set to go. You can then sit back and look out of your turret window at the outdoor benches on the patio below.

For a very comfortable sitting room in a turret style room you should hang some curtains that are airy but layered so they can be adjusted to let in just the amount of light you need at any point of time in the day. Install a bench that wraps around the room, add a few comfy armchairs and cushioned rug on the floor. On the floor add some pillows for people to sit on and you will enjoy many cozy nights with friends in the years to come.

Hi Five

I am currently working with Kat on a project. She asked me to just ask some details we need from the team tomorrow. I was fast to say OK then I remembered I will be out the whole day tomorrow.

Hubby and I are going on a date, but not alone. We have to tag the girls along as it would be very difficult for Papa Bert and Mama Ledy to look after these two playful girls.

I will treat him to a buffet lunch. He wants to give the girls a train ride. And he suggests we watch a movie. I like!

PS: Happy birthday to my friend and former teammate, Isaac!

S&R Alabang Supports Bring Your Own Bag

Last July 31, we went to S&R Alabang and celebrated my moms birthday there. After eating some delicious new york style pizza, we did their grocery shopping.

Upon check out, I noticed that the cashier are putting our stuff on half-cut cartons. Then I saw a signage that says something similar to Muntinlupa bans the use of plastic bags. I was ecstatic! You see, I am trying to limit our plastic bag usage too that is why I always carry ecobags with me wherever I go. And going to a place that fully support bring your own bag advocacy makes me really happy and giddy.

This is how our groceries look like. I feel like we shopped somewhere abroad like in the foreign TV shows.

Tips on helping the environment

Aside from Muntinlupa, I know Lusiana, Laguna also bans plastic bag usage. If these places can do it, I am sure others can follow. I wish Quezon City will be next.
