Review: It’s Not Always About Me

This is my long overdue review about Yuuki’s main blog, It’s Not Always About Me.

I can tell that I somehow witnessed how Yuuki was able to transform her blog. From Blogger to WordPress and from blogspot.com to her very own domain.

Back then, when I read her posts, I sometimes wonder how can she, for the lack of better terms, create a post in different colors. It kind of bothers me since I am not used to reading multi-colored posts. The font of her posts quite bothered me too for their size. That’s the OC me talking. But as I read her posts regularly, I learned how to appreciate the colors she put in her posts. I realized that’s one reason why I kept in visiting her blog, to see what color she used in a particular post. Maybe each color she uses signifies something, perhaps her feelings when she types that certain paragraph or word. Yuuki?

Apart from the colors of her blog, I’m also after what she posts. It’s Not Always About Me stayed true to its name. The contents are not always about Yuuki, just most of the time. 😉 I like that she is able to blog anything and everything under the sun this this site while she is away from her family.

Chocolate Heaven by Red Ribbon

Chocolate Heaven by Red Ribbon
I see a billboard of this cake almost everyday as we exit White Plains Avenue going to EDSA. I never craved for sweets in my 5 months of being pregnant. In fact, I avoided sweets. I wanted food to be sour, spicy and salty. Not until last week. With Valentine’s day just around the corner, I told hubby I want that cake. I must say, if it wasn’t for the billboard, I would have not thought of buying this Chocolate Heaven cake because I wouldn’t know it exists.

February 13, we head to Las Piñas for our usual visit. It was also time for my monthly check-up with my OB. I promised the little girl that we will bring her to the mall to play after my check-up. I thought it was also the perfect time to buy the cake so all of us with sweet-tooth can feast on it.

Unfortunately, the Red Ribbon branch at SM SouthMall ran out of stocks. That’s not really a surprise given that the next day is already Valentine’s day. I was just hopeful that they were able to foresee the sudden rise of demand for cakes.

So V-day passed by and we’re back to QC. Monday night, I saw the billboard again and told hubby I still want that cake. After my waxing session at Lay Bare Waxing Salon, we head to the Red Ribbon branch at Congressional Avenue.

I felt giddy the moment I saw the cake in their display from the outside of the store. The place was quite busy when we came in so I asked for someone’s help immediately and ordered the cake before everything can be sold out. Gladly, they have loads of stocks in their fridge. I was took home a large Chocolate Heaven cake. I opted for this one because the price of PhP560 seemed appropriate for its size unlike the small one which costs PhP350+. I love maximizing the value of my money.

Chocolate Heaven stayed true to its name having 4 different kinds of chocolate in it to enjoy. It has chocolate curls, chocolate icing, chocolate mousse and brownies. I never tasted Red Ribbon cakes this good before. I can’t even describe the feeling when I eat it. Good job to the one who created this cake!

As of this writing I still haven’t finished the slices I brought here at the office yesterday. I wonder if the people at home remembered today that they still have a cake in the fridge. They seem to forgot about it yesterday as it was still the way I left it last Monday evening.

Tokyo Banana – I Love

Our Japanese counterparts visited us again for the second time this year last week. This time, they brought us another banana treat that I truly love and missed.

I started to fall in love with this processed banana 2-3 years ago when we were undergoing a search engine migration. Funny because we’re into another search engine migration these days, but that is not the primary reason why our JP team is here.

Tokyo BananaTokyo Banana is a very popular snack souvenir from Japan. I heard it’s quite pricey too. It’s a soft sponge cake with banana flavor filling inside. It smells really great that makes you want to eat more and more. Well at least that’s the effect on me.

Thanks to our JP team for this happy treat and good luck to all our projects! See you again soon.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
