Review: LayBare Waxing Salon at Rockwell Business Center

As you may know, I took a long leave from work because of Ayex’s ballet and th Holy Week observance. I only returned to work last Monday. Since then, I have been itching to check whether the LayBare Waxing Salon at the ground floor of our office building is already open. Before I took a leave, I saw that it is almost finished. I was assuming that in the two weeks that I was gone, perhaps they are already operating. But I was too busy with all the piled reports waiting to be processed.

Last Wednesday, my friend, Therese, asked me if I want to check out Nail It, a nail spa, beside LayBare. I was so thrilled when she told me that both shops are already open!

So we had an early lunch and went to Nail It. There were plenty of available therapists but their service prices are quite pricey. I ended up going to LayBare for my monthly dose of underarm hair removal. Also, I forgot to take care of my brows so I opted for some eyebrow threading too.

LayBare Rockwell Business Center

This is how their private treatment room looks like. I like their door and how everything looks neat and well arranged.

Therapist at LayBare Rockwell Business Center Ms. Criz is my therapist. She is very pleasant and accommodating. Since I am quite a veteran of LayBare already, I know the procedure already and I am happy to say that she was well trained. She made sure that my underarms are hairless to bits. My eyebrows have grown too much but I did not feel the pain that much as Ms. Criz kept on telling me stories to divert my attention. She has done a fantastic job! Yay, I miss Ms. Mhean of LayBare Congressional this month!

For your waxing needs, I recommend LayBare Waxing Salon. Thumbs up!

Review: LG GT505

It was May of last year when I bought this mobile phone. At that time, I hit the mall without having a specific model unit in mind. All I knew was I wanted to buy a new phone and I will not go home without one. My criteria were:

  • It should have a nice camera, 3MP-5MP, with flash.
  • It should have a memory card slot, preferably up to 8gb.
  • It should have 3G connectivity, Wi-fi is a plus.
  • It should be touch screen, because it is IN.

If my memory serves me right, those were the only criteria of a phone I was looking for. Oh, I wished for a big screen and a price that I can pay from my own pocket on a monthly basis.

In a few months, this phone will turn a year with me. I like that it is very powerful from my perspective. I am not very into applications (yet) so I am ok with its basics. I appreciate that I can type on it using a virtual keypad or the qwerty method. I have taken so much photo using its 5MP camera although I really think its flash is very blinding. My daughter loves using it to play music. She also likes to play the games it has.

Basically, I have no major qualms about it except that sometimes, I have to restart it because of the Maximum application limit error. There was also one instance when a message got stuck in my outbox and I cannot delete it. I was only able to get rid of that message after removing the battery.

All in all, I think this phone is a good buy.

Review: Lansinoh Milk Bag

We have a limited freezer space so weeks before the end of my maternity leave, I was already planning how am I suppose to store my breastmilk. I researched online and I found that Lansinoh has the most positive feedback among nursing moms.

After reading reviews, I looked where I can buy it and found that it is only available from ebay.ph.

Positive Notes

  • It has double zip lock. This ensures no milk leakage (of course it still depends when the bag is not properly closed).
  • Per box contains 25 bags. I use 2-3 bags a day so depending on my usage, each box can last about a couple of weeks.
  • Each bag can contain 7-9oz of milk. When I maximize each bag, I only use 2 bags a day. This really saves space in the freezer.
  • Each bag has a write-on area for labeling. I like this feature very much because I won’t need stickers or masking tapes anymore when labeling the milks.
  • Each bag is BPA-free.
  • When filled with milk, the bag stands up. You can also store it lying flat like I do.
  • Each bag is already pre-sterilized so I also save electricity.
  • The bags come in a Tissue Pack Dispenser, which allows for easy access and storage. I can get a bag with just one hand.

Negative Note

There is only one thing that I don’t like about Lansinoh Milk Bags and that would be its availability here in the Philippines. I was not able to get this from leading department store’s baby section. It is only available from online sellers who import them from other countries like USA. If it happens that your seller ran out of stock, your only option is to look for another online seller, which may have a different pricing. That is exactly what happened to me.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
