Boracay, Here We Come!

In just a couple of weeks from now, we will go back to the paradise! I am so excited! (Imagine me shrieking like Barbie does in Life in the Dreamhouse as I say that. Hahaha. Yeah, yeah,I have been watching too much cartoons with my princess).

Well, the household is quite very busy right now and to be honest, my brain is so exhausted but that cannot defeat my excitement. My eldest and I are still very busy with her last quarter exams. She’s taking exams ahead of the rest of the students being a sequentialist aka running for honors. And yes, she’s so looking forward to our Boracay vacation too!

Anyway, I started gathering our travel essentials already for our first summer trip. I want to share them to you so you do not forget what to bring when you are about to hit the road or ride the plane off to your own paradise.

travel essentials

Whether you will be staying in a hotel or your very own home, be sure to include your personal hygiene and skin care products in your luggage.

Since it is summer and we are hitting the beach, apart from our bikinis and fit flops, on the top of our list is our sun screen (Sulta Flawless Sun Screen Lotion SPF70), moisturizer (Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer) and facial wash (Celeteque Facial Wash).

We will surely be out in the sand the whole day, swimming and munching during breaks. I want to have fresh breathe all day and so another must have for me is a mouthwash. Eating various kinds of food one after the other can cause bacteria build-up but with Swish Mangosteen mouth wash, there is no room for germs. And when it is party time, I do not want to have sweaty underarms, thus the Dove deodorant.

Staying in the beach the whole day can allow the sand to get places they should not be. So it is important for me too to have my feminine wash. My favorite is PH Care Cool Wind. Lastly but surely not the least, always bring your toothbrush.

And for additional protection from the sun, bring your shades and your hat too!

Review: I Wish They Taught Money in High School

Let’s just say that this two-part book by friends, Sharon W. Que and Clarissa Sereña-de la Paz, is heaven sent. It is like a push to me.

At the school where I had my secondary education, they actually taught us money. Our curriculum was called Business High School. We were taught different business subjects. I guess that was one of the influences why I took up a business-IT course in college. What the curriculum did not taught us, and I am speaking for any other curriculum, is how to have the guts, how to take risks, to be the businessman or businesswoman that you wanted to be.

Sharon said that being born in a family of business people is an advantage but not necessary. In my opinion, being born in the family of business people gives a person that advantage of becoming a risk-taker because he/she have seen people do it and have succeeded.

I did not have that. While I have this desire of having a business of my own, I do not have that pat on my back that says, go ahead, you can do it. And for me that is important. I thought I do not have the capital to start with. I do not have a concrete idea of what I like to have. All I know is that, I want to have a business.

Having read this book is like seeing a light approaching the end of the tunnel. I feel that after quitting my office-based work to take care of my growing princesses, I will feel financial independence again because now, I have a clear idea of what I want to do and how to go about it. Thanks to this book. Plus this time, my husband it with me also. The timing is just so right because we are really looking at exploring business opportunities for additional source of income.

I am usually asked these questions: “Hindi mo ba na-mi-miss mag work? Kapag malaki na ba sila (my kiddos) mag wo-work ka na uli?”. And my constant answers are: “Hindi. Lalo na ung nahihirapan kang sumakay pag naulan. Hindi. Magnenegosyo ako.”. I feel that I was just given a go signal to finally start realizing again that dream I have always had, tried but stopped. Again, thank you to this book and the authors.

I Wish They Taught Money in High School

This book is very easy to read and everything in it, you will truly find to make sense. I even found myself really studying the charts in it closely and even found a slight typo-error, if I am right. The cute cartoons in it makes the money-talk a lot easier to digest and that there are no unexplained terminologies.

If you are like me, who have dreams of having your very own business, this book is for you. You can purchase one here. Cheers to FINANCIAL AWARENESS!

Celebrate LOVE Everyday

So it is the love month!

Many are surely busy planning how they will spend Valentine’s day with their significant others. Hotels and restaurants are probably already fully-booked by now, if not, almost. Prices of flowers, chocolates and the likes have probably gone steep as Valentine’s day is fast approaching.

The husband and I? Well, we are not fans.

I am a very practical person. I would rather eat home-cooked meals than in a fancy restaurant. The price we would have to pay for two can surely feed a family of 8 with tons of seafood and meat. Instead of flowers, I would rather receive food or perhaps, kitchen stuff or anything I could use at home. Yeah, I feel so grown-up because my wishlist has graduated from bags and shoes to kitchen stuff.

Another reason why we are not fans is that, we believe that love should not only be celebrated specially during the love month or specifically, Valentine’s day. Love should be celebrated on a daily basis. Just like when you say that the spirit of Christmas is giving, it should not stop when it is pass December 25. We believe the same thing for love. And oh, we hate the traffic and the fuzz pre-Valentine’s day. We really try to stay at home during these times.

My husband is the type who opts for impromtu. So it is really to my advantage that Swish mouthwash has this pocket size I can always carry in my kikay pouch. That is Swish in Cinnamon Blast variant inside my kikay kit. I love that I can always have fresh breath and germ-free mouth anywhere, so long as I have Swish with me.

No surprises outside of our home? I don’t fret. Besides, I am not very fond of PDA. But at home, we surely get lots of those, together with our two princesses. And yes, they too boast their fresh breath to us as we use Swish in Icy Choco Mint at home.

Whether you have your Valentine’s day planned out or not, remember that it is not the only day for us to show love to each other. We should do it every second we can. We must make it count. So always be smooch-ready and keep a fresh breath only with Swish. It is powered by Surefresh Technology that kills bacteria and is alcohol-free, very safe to use, even for kids.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
