Things I Am Thankful for Today

Today was pretty tiring and hectic but I just want to take some time before I sleep to say how grateful I am for some things.

  1. Hubby woke up early, drove us Celebrity Sports Plaza where the Ayex’s ballet dress rehearsal is, and stayed there to help me take care of the little ballerina. I was so prepared to commute via taxi and I am glad we did not have to because the traffic is crazy!
  2. Kind people such as Ms. Tere of TOTAL IMAGE DAY SPA. We left Maxyn here at home, which means I have to express milk while I am away to prevent engorgement. She lent me a room in their spa where I was able to make milk comfortably. It was so relaxing that I wanted to dose off a little!
  3. The dress rehearsal ended up being just a rehearsal. The ballerinas only changed costumes twice and they did not wear the costumes that we do not have yet. I was so worried that Ayex might get upset even if I have explained it to her earlier about it. The thing is, we do not have those costumes yet because we are not aware about these additional costumes. There is really a problem with logistics the past few weeks and I hope the studio owners/managers take care of it soon.

Thank God for this day. Tomorrow is a big day. Good night, everyone!

Thinking Aloud

I am on emo-mode today. I have been not feeling very ok this week and I am still looking for that something that will lift me up. Maxyn having fever since yesterday afternoon kind of adds salt to the injury.

I chatted with several friends this morning and I told them I wanted to hibernate. I feel like I need to know myself again. I am losing confidence and I do not know where I am good at. They corrected me and told me I know exactly what I want to do but I have to get the passion in it.

Now, what do I have to do to get that passion burning?

Sundae and chicken are some of my comfort foods but I still don’t feel comforted. Maybe another round of caramel sundae later.

My Part-time Work: Online Business

That is how I started my own business.

It started when my eldest daughter discovered the joy of removing the tape of her diaper. She has it on then when you look at her; she is already diaper-less! I guess it is the snapping sound that the tape makes when removed that amused her which is why she kept on doing it even outside our home. Since we cannot afford to have her in tow without diapers, I looked for some training pants or pull ups diaper online. I did not want to settle for those in the supermarkets as they are very pricey!

That is how I met my diaper supplier. I saw that diaper business has huge potential as you will never run out of customers, infant and adult alike. After trying the products to Ayex, I was convinced and put up my own buy and sell business. For two years, I have a self-sustaining small business. We get several packs for different sizes from our supplier and inform our clients what is available. Hubby delivers the diapers on his way to work or during weekends. I, on the other hand, meet up clients on places I pass by to and from work. It was not really hard when you get used to carrying bulky diaper packs.

During the course of our business, the price of gas kept on going up and it affects us because we use a car to deliver the diapers. As much as we wanted to increase our delivery charge, we could not because we want to retain our loyal clients. That same time, motorcycle Philippines is becoming popular and we really thought of getting one for delivery purposes.

However, I have no one to do the deliveries full time. I do not have someone who is knowledgeable about motorcycle parts information or simply someone who will drive the motorcycle full time. Time came that I became too busy with work and got pregnant with my second child. I was no longer able to manage the business well. With heavy heart, I decided to stop our operation in Las Pinas. Regret fills me up when old clients text me to inquire what is available and all I can tell them is we are not operating anymore. Some of them still get diapers from us on an order basis until now and I am grateful to these clients for their loyalty. We still have some stocks here in Quezon City but we are not actively selling them. We just have a signage outside our home and people come to inquire and buy. We do not deliver yet but I hope in the coming months, we can revive this business.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
