Liven Up Your Party

When I was a little kid, my concept of party is really very simple. When my parents buy me a cake and ice cream for my birthday, that is already a party for me. Then as I was growing up, the standards on what to call a party also changed. Balloons were added. Then there were hired mascots and clowns. Then magicians perform after the clowns.

When I became a young adult, there were no more partying for me. We had limited resources and so we allot our money to what matters most – our education and the food on the table. But I was cool with that. I continued to attend parties of classmates and old friends, especially those who celebrated their debut with a bang! It is really fun to attend debuts because you are allowed to party all night with someone who looks like those Texas D.J.’s playing really good music to liven up the night. Of course aside from all the dancing, there is also the flowing food and drink. Now it made me think that I should be really grateful to my parents for allowing me to attend those parties.

Hot Spot

We are currently here in mom’s place. We usually go here on weekends only but this week is an exception. And when we go here, I always bring along our router and laptop with me. Last weekend, we were also here but I purposely did not bring our router so we can spend more time talking. You see, when I convert this place into a hot spot, all of us become busy with our online life (just like now) and we tend to forget physical interaction. I told everyone that and I was glad nobody disagreed, we were all guilty.

May this serve as a reminder to all of us. Online life is fun but when things all fail, our offline relationships remain with us.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Car Repair Again

No, thankfully it is not ULY, our trusty car. It is EMPOY, my FIL’s public transport.

This Toyota FX has been with him for more than a decade now and it has started to act up last year. There days when it cannot be used because of lapsed maintenance or broken part. On worse cases, attending to the needed maintenance or broken part will take a couple of days, extending to a week. When that happens, FIL has no income.

They are their own mechanics, FIL and his co-driver. Good thing they know a lot when it comes to cars and suppliers of spare parts. They need those, I think, specially that almost weekly, they need to replace a part. I remember that from one of their trips, aside from the needed part, they also bought a trailer hitch. They said it will be useful on emergencies. I am praying though that that will not have to happen.

Well, the car is not mine and I am not paying for it. It just saddens me that FIL keeps on paying to have it fixed but he does not get his money back.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
