Catching Up

It has been six days since I last left home for work. Yes, I am officially unemployed now. Ah, I waited quite a while for this. Now, I have plenty of time at home with my husband and the girls. I often feel guilty before because everything that a mom and a wife should be doing for the kids and spouse were done by others on my behalf. Being at home too has given me lots of time to catch up with my friends. You see, I really had a hard time balancing family life, work, and personal life. But not anymore.

Recently, I met with a few friends over coffee and I really had a great time even if we still had lots of things to talk about. Yes, lots and lots of things to discuss because we only see one another almost once in a blue moon. The greatest take away a have from that chat is about finances. Now that I am unemployed, I am doing my best to control my expenses. But there are times when one will have a need for money and there is nothing. I am glad to learn that there are various short term loans nowadays. That there are companies who offer title loans (like loan secured car title) and the approval is really fast.

I cannot predict the future and as much as I want to be debt-free, only time can tell. I will manage my finances well but if time comes I will be in need, I will turn to my friends and ask them more about these secured loans. Now, isn’t that a very informative catching up time?

Parents Orientation

Last Saturday, we attended the pre-school parents’ orientation at Divine Grace Child Development Center where we enrolled Ayex as Kinder 1. We chose this over the other school because they are offering Chinese lessons in all levels and we think of that as an advantage.

It was my first ever parents’ orientation and I am glad to know that the I share the same sentiments as the school. What exactly do I mean?

Initially, I thought of homeschooling Ayex because I want to control her lessons to the basics. When I hear parents rave about their children being thought very advanced subjects in pre-school, it does not amaze me. Instead, I kind of pity the kids because I know they are stressed out from the heavy school work they do. My homeschooling project did not push through so we had to look for a school that offers a balanced curriculum.

And we are glad that we found Divine Grace. They believe that children should be left as children. They believe that preparatory school is not about academics because they will take that in the formal schooling which starts at grade 1. They believe that preparatory school is about preparing a child to take on the challenges of formal schooling by developing their values.

I am truly glad that I heard what I want to hear during the orientation. In a week’s time, Ayex will be going to school already. I hope everything will turn out fine, specially her bad sleeping habits.

First Day SAHM

Today marks the day when I am officially unemployed. Hubby said last night it is not funny. We have talked about it before but looks like we have some unfinished business there.

I am just waiting for my uncle who is asking me to design a sticker. After that, I, Ate Meriam and the girls are off to Divisoria to shop for loot bag stuff for Maxyn’s first birthday. I know it is kind of hassle but I really want to DIY Maxyn’s party as much as I can. I really hope the girls will cooperate and will not throw tantrums.

Wish us luck! I will also take this opportunity to buy something for the PMC Second Grand Meet-Up on November. 🙂

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
