Terrible Two: Child Discipline

I believe that Ayex is a good girl. It just so happens that she wants our full attention when we’re around since this only happens during weekends. And we do everything to make that happen. We do our best to focus our attention to her even when we have other things to mind apart from her.

But there are times when she really gets to our nerves being the terrible two that she is. Last night was one of them.

She has not eaten a decent meal the whole day. At Timezone Trinoma, she kept on insisting at playing at those that have candies as the prizes. She even want to swipe the power card herself (such a techie little kid!)! She didn’t want to walk and asked to be carried most of the time. I’m just thankful that she behaved well while she had her hair cut.

At home, after I fixed our things from our LP weekend stay, I called her for dinner. As I arrange her high-chair she came out running and shouting at the same time. She was insisting that she doesn’t want to eat and I should return her chair. She is crying and shouting! I forced her to sit in her high chair and told her that I’ll only feed her milk after she has eaten her dinner. After 3 spoons of rice, she stood up and faced the TV. We asked her thrice to sit down again and finish her food. She began to cry again, took some rice from her plate and threw it in the table. That was it!

After that, I took her from the chair, brought her inside our room and locked it! I swear, I was so hungry but I couldn’t eat because I can hear her loud cry. Hindi marunong matakot si Ayex kahit kanino! And I fear that she’ll be like that forever! I locked her in the room twice. On the second time, she stopped crying while I talk to her from the outside.

I was expecting to have the usual mommy-guilt I feel after scolding her. I didn’t for the first time. It was probably an affirmation that I was right. I have to discipline her myself. And I can do that without spanking. I don’t want to instill fear to her, I just want her to be disciplined.

Home Investments

Nope, we haven’t invested for our own house if that’s what you are thinking. We don’t have sufficient funds yet but it’s in the works. On the contrary, I’m pertaining to home furniture, if these are classified as such. Hehehe.

These have been sitting in my photo album for more than a week now due to laziness. These are the latest addition to our home stuff – most of which came as wedding presents. I’m just glad I looked into those electric roisterer, we were introduced to a bargain deal – a real bargain deal!

This is the main reason why we went to the mall despite of the A H1N1 scare. We badly need to replace the old stove because its burner already cracked and might pose danger if we continue using it. The brand is HYUNDAI and the stove looks like and industrial stove. Pretty neat-looking, too!

This is an LG 21L microwave oven. I was looking at an electric roisterer when hubby asked me if I’m still interested in other items. I said no. He then asked if I want to check on their microwave ovens. The saleslady, after hearing that said that they have a current promo. From PhP4500, the microwave is down to PhP2000. That is more than 50% off the tag! If not for that, I wouldn’t have convinced myself to get one. Now, reheating food at home is breeze.

Next investment, probably a new sala set. We need to replace the current one soon!

Global Warming Effects

Did you notice how hot it is the past few days? If you didn’t, you’re probably on the other hemisphere of the globe. Good for you then! I pity myself and eventually our little girl because this high pressure area got into us.

Last Saturday, we went back to Las Pinas again to visit my family for the nth time this month. We’ve been going there almost every week because we have events to attend to. First was our usual visit, next was Toni’s 22nd birthday, and the third is because we’ll pay a visit to my paternal grandmother.

Mon and I have been thinking why is it so hot in their area despite all the trees planted in the village. We couldn’t stay inside the house because it’s simply too hot. I took a shower and even before I get out, I was already sweating! Yay! That day, Ayex didn’t have her usual nap, probably because of the heat as well. Come bedtime, she kept on moving from side to side asking for milk or a back rub. Mon wasn’t able to get a good night sleep either despite having two electric fans turned on! I couldn’t sleep because they couldn’t sleep. That’s how hot it was!

I was able to sleep at 5am, when it was already bright outside. My aching throat which I hoped will not continue to colds already did. Without enough sleep and constant heat, my immune system is so weak. While we were in Batangas where my Lola is, my eyes were already hurting bad. On our way back to Quezon City, I’m already feeling cold. That’s why I wasn’t able to go to work on Monday and Tuesday. I got cough, colds and slight fever. I did my best to keep away from Ayex but I think that’s impossible for a breastfeeding mom. Last Tuesday when I was feeling a bit better already, Ayex exhibited symptoms of colds as she kept on sneezing! Ay yay yay!

I so hate this weather. In the morning it will be furiously hot. In the afternoon, it would rain. Even the people with strongest immune system will not probably survive this wacko weather!

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
