Invitation to Maxyn’s Christening

I am very pleased with the design. I made up the message because I don’t like the usual text found online. We had an impromptu photo shoot because Ate Meriam and Em-Em didn’t like the original picture I used. Max was very cooperative! Hahaha

Here’s the original draft.

Time flies by so fast. Two weeks after the christening, I will be back at work. Hay, I don’t want to leave my girls yet.

Meet and Greet the Sesame Street Characters

It took me a while before I signed up for Facebook. Everyone is already crazy about it and its various games but I continue to ignore the invitations I get. Why? Because I didn’t like to have another account to maintain. However, various friends finally convinced me when they introduced me to contests that you can find in Facebook only. So I signed up.

Most of the contests in Facebook are based on popularity. The entry that gets the most number of Likes wins. Being someone who is online due to work, I wasn’t able to focus on such contest, reducing my chances of winning to the tiniest. I’m glad though that I’ve discovered various promotions by smartparenting.com.ph over Facebook.

One of the promotions smartparenting.com.ph had was about Sesame Street. All you have to do is tell them your child’s best Sesame Street story and they will choose who will win. I like contests like this because no voting is involved. I made sure to join because Ayex loves Elmo so much that she watches her DVD almost the whole day! Below is the entry that gave us two tickets to the Sesame Street Summer Fiesta last April 17 at the Mall of Asia.

Since I had work, I asked my sister, Gabby, to pick up our ticket on my behalf. Good thing her shift starts in the afternoon.

When I got home, I showed Ayex our tickets and asked her who are the characters she sees. She was very excited to answer and got more excted when I told her we’re seeing them in person!

I was wrong though. We didn’t see Elmo and Cookie Monster. Instead, we met with Ernie and Bert. I was a bit frustrated and Ayex kept asking where is Elmo. In the end, she still enjoyed the whole thing and even kissed Ernie and Bert. Up to now, when she remembers the event, she tells us the story but still asks where is Elmo. I hope one day, she’ll really get to greet Elmo live.

Home Improvements

We’re only renting our current place but that doesn’t have to stop me from putting some stuff that can improve the organization of our home right?

These are things we bought a few months ago to organize our place but I wasn’t able to create a post about them due to heavy work load. Anyway, I hope you find them useful for your own home too.

full-length mirror
We finally have our very own full-length mirror in our room. This is something I’ve been wanting to buy because I’m a certified narcissist who likes to look at herself all the time! Kidding! I find this very convenient because I won’t have to go out to the living area where another mirror is just to make sure I look my best before leaving the house for work. If I go our of our room, I can just pick up my packed food and go.

accessories organizer Before, we used to go out of our room after taking a bath to be able brush our hair because it is where our comb is and the mirror. Also, Ayex’s headbands used to be found just anywhere in our house because she has nowhere to place all of them together. Now, you can find these things in just one place.

I personally did the screwing of the handle to cabinet. Yes, sometimes I am a carpenter! I made sure I placed it somewhere Ayex can reach it easily so she can learn to take care of her personal things like her headbands and shades. Now, this organizer is already full of headbands. I’m happy that Ayex keeps them where they should be all the time.

I love this accessories organizer to bits. Apart from keeping our things neat, it has taught Ayex the importance of being organized. It also fosters her being independent and assertive.

bathroom rack Before we purchased this, I have a pouch that contains all my bathroom needs: my feminine wash, razor, soap, and facial wash. For the other people in our household, they maintain separate soap boxes which are placed near the bathroom window. The shampoo is on the top of the toilet bowl. You get the picture? Yes our toiletries are everywhere in the bathroom. Things got more scattered when my sister-in-law came home from the US. Her toiletries were placed at the top of the bathroom sink. They were perfect eyesore!

Finally, we had a chance to go to the mall and I made sure we didn’t go home without this rack. Now, every toiletry is in this rack and our bathroom is as organized as ever.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
