Metro Manila classes suspended because of Ondoy

DepEd announced this morning that they’re extending the suspension of classes in the elementary and high school levels in public and private schools in Metro Manila until Friday, October 2, 2009 due to the devastating effects of Ondoy.

CHED also said that classes at the tertiary level in Metro Manila and other areas placed under a state of calamity will remain suspended until Saturday.

Scammers use Ondoy

Gosh, I hate these people! I heard from TV this afternoon that there are circulating text messages about the on-going fund raising for the victims of Ondoy. The text message apparently states another bank account number apart from that of ABS-CBN’s BDO account. These people are so clever and super evil, wanting to take advantage of our country’s current situation! I know it’s bad to curse but I pray that next time, these people will know the feeling of being the victims!! They’re so naive and heartless!

To those who are donating, please keep them coming and be careful. You don’t want evil people to be benefiting from these efforts.

I just like to share my personal view on the efforts being made at this time for our fellow Filipinos affected by the wrath of Ondoy.

I watched the ABS-CBN Teleton about typhoon Ondoy since 8AM this morning and I must say, I’m really impressed at Kris Aquino’s convincing powers. She’s really an effective fund raiser. This is the first time I was able to see how celebrities used their being a celebrity for a good cause – for very big cause. I heard how the pledges come in one after the other, from these celebrities’ endorsements to TFCs to regular citizens. It’s amazing. From what I heard about a few minutes ago, they now have 25M worth for goods and services and 20M worth of cash pledges.

Who would have thought Filipinos can be united even when it is not about politics? Let’s keep helping other people in whatever we can.
