Internet Marketing as Career

If you frequent my blog, you know that I used to have a day job and that I quit mid of last year to take care of my growing children. Months have past and I have not applied for a new job yet. This time, I am looking for home-based jobs. I like it that way so I can still take care of my children’s needs, while earning a living.

And one of the most popular jobs out there now is in the field of Internet Marketing. Why not? In this techie world, many people spend more time in front of their computers. Just take the office workers for example. They are in front of their desktops and laptops for a minimum of 8 hours daily, about a minimum of 40 hours weekly. That is if they no longer open the home computer. You see, this is the reason why traditional media such as the television, radio and print as slowly evolving towards the Internet. Even the biggest television networks now have their own web sites where they post what they air on TV. Companies cannot afford for their market share to go down simply because they did not use any internet marketing strategy.

And this is why many companies are looking for internet marketers. I do not know a lot yet about this field. But I am easily taught and I am a fast learner. I am sure that if I give it a try, it can be my next career. If only I can start again with real work. The girls still need utmost attention from me. And the changing of helpers is so not helping!

Inspired

Lately, many of my contacts in Facebook are publishing photos of their business. Well, while sometimes it gets a bit annoying since they keep on sharing the photos of what they sell over and over again, it is also an opportunity for us, their contacts to see what they have to offer again. (That is such a long sentence, whew!)

Since I have been lurking in Facebook for longer times lately, it got me thinking. I really wonder how much do these people spend as capital for their online-based businesses. Is it that big? Or how small it is? Where do they get their supplies? Which is more salable: food, clothing, toys, or accessories? What do they use to track their stocks, is it something like pc america? If they import, do they have contacts abroad and in the customs office?

I have so many questions because I am inspired to re-open my online store. Yes, I have one too but it has been inactive for almost two years now. I sell mostly gadgets and diapers but I haven’t had time to take care of it so I stopped. But my girls are getting bigger now and their needs are expanding too. I feel like I have to do something I help my husband in whatever way I can. Plus I think selling is something I am good at.

What do you think? Do you have your own online shop? Care to share more about it?

Bicycle for Kids

Since we entertained the thought of buying Alex her own bike, I kept telling her that she is so privileged. In my entire life, I never owned a bike.

I can remember when I was a child, my grandpa will bring us to Luneta Park where we will rent bikes, a single one and even the ones with side car. I and my siblings will bike all we want until it is time for us to go home. I am not sure if bicycle for rent are still available in that park now a days.

In my teenage years, we simply borrow the bike owned by one of our friends and we use it alternately, while playing with other things like jump rope, chinese garter, etc.

So when we were at the bicycle store last Saturday, I kept telling Alex to be a good girl. I told her our condition over and over again hoping she will remember them in her heart. I am so thankful and proud of my husband because he is very supportive of our kids and their wants. I hope we can keep up with it until our children are older and have more whims.

Let me share with you Alex’s video where she is already using the bike by herself. This was taken yesterday, two days after we bought the bike.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
