Keeping Busy during Summer

How do you keep yourself busy during Summer? When the kids are out on camping trips for days or weeks, and the husband goes out of town for a company summer getaway, what is left to do when one is alone at home? Being a mom, this is the time when I exhaust all possible “mommy duties”. Aside from finally being able to finish the loads of laundry that have always haunted me (you know that feeling of a never ending pile of dirty clothes day after day), I can also do an annual washing of all our kitchenware, tableware and cookware. This means even those antique ones stored in our china cabinet will also be washed and polished.

Once all the clothes and cutleries are done, it’s time for a general cleaning of the whole house. I can finally clean every nook and cranny in our house where I’m sure there are bits and pieces of toys, or worse, biscuit crumbs from the kids. Having them all gone is the only way I can turn the house upside down to finally do the cleaning I’ve always wanted to.

When all those are done, it’s time to reward myself with some recreation. I guess I could play fast poker with some of my cyber friends. I have still a lot to learn when it comes to playing the game but I’m sure that learning how to play poker online will definitely be lots of fun since I’m playing it with friends who are newbies like me too.

Missing my Lola

Last month, my paternal grandmother passed away. The 40th-day of her death is either today or yesterday (depending on how the family started the count). It’s customary here in our country that the family sort of commemorates the 40th day of death.

Since we’re still at the hospital and have no way of going home to our province to be with the family, I’m glad I have found a site forpersonalized gifts to show your sympathy. If we are still not able to come home soon, I’m sure I can purchase a card online and have it sent to the province directly. I’m sure they will appreciate that even if we’re not with them physically, we still remember and pray for the eternal repose of my Lola’s soul on her 40th day.

Ride the Horse

One thing we haven’t had the chance to do this summer is to go to Tagaytay to ride the horses. It is one activity my children look forward to at least once a year. Yes, we’ve been to Tagaytay but we didn’t have the chance to do recreational activities.

I just hope that the horses have new saddle pads this year for added comfort to the riders. I don’t know if they do change it yearly but hopefully they “retired” the ones we used last year.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
