September 10, 2011 was the day I will not regret I became selfish. Haha! I was suppose to have a dinner out with my girlfriends the previous Saturday but I had to back out the last minute because my youngest had fever on top of her asthma attack. Both my kids were still sick that Saturday and have a follow-up check-up with our pedia but I really have to have some time off. I have been really cranky the past weeks due to tiredness of nursing two sick kids. I was so close to texting Pehpot that I could not come but a huge part of me was telling me to go. And I am so glad I listened to that other part!
After dropping off Ayex to her ballet class, I went to Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, the venue set for ParenTIN.TV’s 2nd Anniversary Celebration and 1st ever Bloggers Day. I thought I would be late but turned out, I was one of the early birds! Excited much.
The program started with a superb lunch buffet prepared by Richmonde Hotel’s executive chef, Chef Bienvendo B. Chavez. I love everything, from the salad, to the main course, to the dessert. Among all, I love the Fish Fillet in Pesto Cream Sauce and Coffee Almond Jelly.
When everyone was full, the program proper started with Ms. Tin-tin Bersola-Babao as the host. She shared with us three exciting news about ParenTIN.TV that we should watch out for.
There is no more reason to miss ParenTIN.TV episodes because they now have more airing schedule at Knowledge Channel, Skycable Ch. 42 namely:

3. WIN A X’MAS BOOTH Promo

After those updates, the winners of the back to back parenTIN.TV contests (Toddler contest and Online Quiz) were awarded. Then it was followed by the first speaker, Miss Vanessa Garon of Golden Values School and Nazareth Formation House (Bob Garon Rehab Center). Together with two residents from Nazareth, they talked about Internet Addiction and Tough Discipline.
While Internet Addiction was being discussed, we moms, were assessing ourselves if we have the characteristics of an Internet addict. The possibility is high since our work revolves around the use of Internet. But after our family vacation last week, I have proven to myself that I can still live without being online. Hahaha!
Then the link between Tough Discipline and Aggressive Behavior was discussed. As I carefully listen to the speaker, I was assessing our own parenting style in my mind. I am worried that we are being to hard to our eldest child that is why she is more becoming hard-headed. I wish parenTIN.TV will come up with an episode or talk about child discipline. On a serious note, I was really teary-eyed after the resident shared what she has gone through. I never imagined such thing can happen at a very young age. At this point, I appreciated more that I was selfish that day because I learned so much and that alone was enough to take with me home.
In between talks, there were raffle and intermission by a parenTIN.TV member. Aside from that, Pehpot and Joy gave Tin-tin the greeting cards we prepared for her.
After that, Zonito Torevillas-Tamase talked about Healthier Foods and Alkalinity. She said you feel something wrong with your body when it goes acidic. This is the reason why we should keep ourselves hydrated and maintain the 80-20 ratio of water and body mass. I was really surprised to hear that the best cure to a headache is just two glasses of water. Not only that, to cure an itchy/sore throat/dry cough, put a small amount of sea salt under the tongue and voila, you should feel a lot better! (I have been having itchy throat at night the past days but I always forget to get some salt!) She capped off her talk by preparing a delicious fruit shake: mango-banana with a teaspoon of Malungay powder. It was sweet on its own without sugar and milk. I loved it and I will try it with my family soon.
Then Tin-tin introduced us to her latest discovery, Smart Steps. These are baby cleaning products from the same company who made Cycles. The product line includes Baby Laundry Detergent, Baby Fabric Softener and Baby Bottle Cleanser. All of these are mild and safe, no dyes, no bleach, no optical brightness, no artificial colorant and no phosphate. Each mommy blogger got to take home a heavy bag full of Smart Steps product. Thank you, Smart Steps!
Then we were given a chance to tour the hotel. We peeked inside three rooms (twin deluxe room, queen deluxe room and two bedroom suit). I love the two bedroom suit. I love the furniture they have, intricate, simple but definitely stylish, suits the minimalist in me! We also checked out the gym. It was raining hard which prevented us from going to the pool at the roof top.
After the tour, we were fed again. We love love love everything Chef Bienvendo prepared for us! Then we had photo ops with Tin-tin. Finally, the M and P papers that each of us found under our chair was revealed to us. I was very lucky to take home a Uratex Fold and Go Mattress in blushing pink!
Indeed, it was a wonderful way to spend my me-time with ParenTIN.TV and fellow Mommy Bloggers! Thanks to Pehpot for the photos.
