Maxyn turns 2 months today

She’s one big adorable baby. Many say she looks like a 6-month old baby that I sometimes feel she’s no longer a baby. She now weighs 13.7lbs. She can keep her head steady for some time already and follows the talking person with her eyes.

To celebrate, hubby cooked pork barbeque and palabok.

Hubby prepared this last night using Clara Ole Barbeque Marinade. I like its taste and tenderness.

For this sauce, hubby used Mama Sita’s palabok mix. I never knew palabok can be done this easy. It was my sister-in-law who taught us this when she was here last summer.

Thank God that almost everyone in the family in now sore eyes-free, we were able to truly celebrate.

Experiencing Puregold Mindanao

We usually got to Cherry Fodarama when we do our grocery. But today, we went to Puregold for a quick trip. We bought items that we’ll use for Maxyn’s 2nd month tomorrow. Yay, time is flying so fast again!

First thing that I’d like to say about the grocery is that it can cause too much traffic! Why? Because it is located near a U-turn slot. Actually, the exit to their parking area is directed to the U-turn slot. That means all cars from the grocery that is headed the other way would need to go directly to the slot and could block the other approaching cars. You’ll understand me better if you happen to be in the area. I really think that stoplight along Mindanao-Congressional Avenue should be activated again.

The second thing I like to comment on how they organize their stocks. Sure they have a lot but I don’t get it why they should have a separate section for milks. This is an entirely separate section I’m talking about. That section even has its own cashier. And if you buy from there and wants to pay outside, they’ll give you a number. You will give that to the cashier outside then the bagger will get your item for you and then you pay. Weird eh?

Lastly, I don’t understand why you have to present your receipt to the person at the exit. They don’t really expect your groceries but only stamp your receipt. If there are a lot of people going out with their loots, this can be very time consuming and a complete hassle.

Oh well, charge to experience. How about you, how’s your weekend so far?

Meet and Greet the Sesame Street Characters

It took me a while before I signed up for Facebook. Everyone is already crazy about it and its various games but I continue to ignore the invitations I get. Why? Because I didn’t like to have another account to maintain. However, various friends finally convinced me when they introduced me to contests that you can find in Facebook only. So I signed up.

Most of the contests in Facebook are based on popularity. The entry that gets the most number of Likes wins. Being someone who is online due to work, I wasn’t able to focus on such contest, reducing my chances of winning to the tiniest. I’m glad though that I’ve discovered various promotions by smartparenting.com.ph over Facebook.

One of the promotions smartparenting.com.ph had was about Sesame Street. All you have to do is tell them your child’s best Sesame Street story and they will choose who will win. I like contests like this because no voting is involved. I made sure to join because Ayex loves Elmo so much that she watches her DVD almost the whole day! Below is the entry that gave us two tickets to the Sesame Street Summer Fiesta last April 17 at the Mall of Asia.

Since I had work, I asked my sister, Gabby, to pick up our ticket on my behalf. Good thing her shift starts in the afternoon.

When I got home, I showed Ayex our tickets and asked her who are the characters she sees. She was very excited to answer and got more excted when I told her we’re seeing them in person!

I was wrong though. We didn’t see Elmo and Cookie Monster. Instead, we met with Ernie and Bert. I was a bit frustrated and Ayex kept asking where is Elmo. In the end, she still enjoyed the whole thing and even kissed Ernie and Bert. Up to now, when she remembers the event, she tells us the story but still asks where is Elmo. I hope one day, she’ll really get to greet Elmo live.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
