More OPM Will Be Heard Soon

In a country where the radio stations are plagued with too much foreign songs, it does not surprise me much that the president wants to hear more music created and sang by his countrymen.

I admit, I like that the president wants EO 255 strictly implemented. Nakakasawa na puro RnB na lang ang naririnig mo sa radyo. I know radio stations still plays music from Filipino bands and artists but not as often. Plus, I terribly miss circa 90s. Super gaganda ng mga kanta noon. May laman at hindi lang basta kanta.

To celebrate this change, I am giving away the following Regine Velasquez album.

Friday + MRT = RIOT

I intended to post this last night but I was very tired.

Thank God, after 3 hour, I’m finally home!

I’m not used to riding the MRT because it is not my primary mode of transportation until we moved to our new office in Ortigas. Given that, I cannot really conclude if what I experienced just a few hours ago will always happen to me every Friday. I certainly hope not.

I was not able to leave the office right away when my shift ended because I attended an impromptu meeting. I left at 6pm and it was drizzling, good thing I was able to ride the jeepney easily. I spent almost an hour in that ride before I reached MRT. I even called home to ask how Maxyn is. She just fed so I was a little relieved. When I reached Shaw Boulevard station, the crowd waiting for the next train is already thick. A train will pass, a few passengers will go down and only a handful were able to push themselves to get inside the train. The trains were jam packed and people are like sardines! The scenario didn’t change and 3 trains already passed by. I decided to take a round trip. This is still way faster than taking the bus because traffic in EDSA is already heavy.

During the ride, I don’t know if I did the right thing. In all the stations, the crowd is very thick! Sa Ayala southbound station na lang na 2 stations away from the base, super kapal pa rin ng tao! Yung northbound naman, mas makapal. At yung train, pagdating sa Ayala station (northbound), punong-puno na! As in all the stations that I saw, the crown is super thick. People keep on pushing each other because they all want to get inside and go home. The people going down had a hard time making it to the door because people won’t let them pass. Yung mga nasa pintuan, akala ko magsasapakan na sila kasi may naiipit na palabas dahil ayaw nila magsatabi!

Some of the passengers were already telling those waiting in the stations not to force themselves inside the train anymore because it’s already very full. But can you blame them? They’ve been waiting in the station for how many minutes already and yet they cannot ride the train. Some speculated that the reason for the thick crowd is because tomorrow is a holiday and most workers are on their way home to their provinces.

Honestly, I’m not sure. All I know is that I don’t want to get used to the round trip idea. It steals a bunch of time I’m supposed to be spending with my kids.

On Politicians and Television Shows

I’ve been on my maternity leave since May 31, a few weeks after the election. Since then I get to watch the television from time to time but I didn’t care that much.

Today, as my mother-in-law flip the television from one channel to another, I noticed something. Tito Sotto won in the May 2010 elections and is a senator of the Philippines again, right? If so, why is he still hosting this noontime show? Doesn’t he go to the senate to work? Does anyone here know the work of a senator, like when do they go to work and how much work they do?

I’m not pin pointing Senator Sotto here. It just so happen that he’s the only elected politician I’ve seen doing shows, I’m not aware who else does. Do you know someone else?

I’m interested to know what they do in the senate and when do they do it. I work as an employee of a multinational company from Mondays to Fridays, 10AM-7PM and 1/4 of my salary goes to tax. I don’t want to know that that money pays the salary of politicians who don’t even do their job where they should.
