On Politicians and Television Shows

I’ve been on my maternity leave since May 31, a few weeks after the election. Since then I get to watch the television from time to time but I didn’t care that much.

Today, as my mother-in-law flip the television from one channel to another, I noticed something. Tito Sotto won in the May 2010 elections and is a senator of the Philippines again, right? If so, why is he still hosting this noontime show? Doesn’t he go to the senate to work? Does anyone here know the work of a senator, like when do they go to work and how much work they do?

I’m not pin pointing Senator Sotto here. It just so happen that he’s the only elected politician I’ve seen doing shows, I’m not aware who else does. Do you know someone else?

I’m interested to know what they do in the senate and when do they do it. I work as an employee of a multinational company from Mondays to Fridays, 10AM-7PM and 1/4 of my salary goes to tax. I don’t want to know that that money pays the salary of politicians who don’t even do their job where they should.
