Happy Weekend!!!

Thank God It’s Friday is my YM status every Friday. Every week, I look up to weekends even if it just passed. For a working mom like me, I guess it is not surprising why I am always excited for weekends. Why am I excited anyway?

I am excited for weekends because of the following reasons.

Weekends are the only time I can bond with my girls without worrying about my schedule. It is the only time I can hear Ayex tell her stories as if she’s an adult. It is the time I get to hear her new words that left me wondering where she heard them. It is the only time I nurse Maxyn as long as she wants to. It is the only time I see her new milestones first hand. It is the only time I become a full-time and hands-on mom to my kids.

During weekends too, I have the chance to bond with my husband. He also works and has a schedule that is different from mine, so we really have very little time for each other. On selected weekends, we go out on an isaw and balut date. It’s a cheap date but really fun. Weekends also allow me to cook for my husband, which sometimes become our bonding since we both love to experiment in the kitchen.

My weekends can be more tiring at times unlike a typical work week when I am all glued to my desktop. Nevertheless, I still look forward to them because I know, weekends always make priceless memories.

Bake & Churn Ice Cream Cakes

I always see stall of Bake & Churn at the malls and I’ve been meaning to buy but we always hesitate.

A few weeks ago, hubby accompanied Ayex to her ballet class. When they got home, Ayex kept on screaming I have a cake over and over. When I saw hubby, he was carrying what seemed to be a shoe box. To my surprise, it is a cake from Bake & Churn.

The shoe box contained this.

Bake & Churn's Rocky Road Ice Cream Cake

Bake & Churn’s Rocky Road Ice Cream Cake log

A slice is a taste of ice cream and cake in one. The chocolates, nuts and marshmallows are all over. Surprisingly, this treat is not very sweet.

As you can see below, after the toppings is a layer of chiffon then at the middle is ice cream.

Bake & Churn's Rocky Road Ice Cream CakeAccording to the box, the ice cream cake can stay in it for 3 hours and not melt even if it is not in the freezer. If you remove the cake in the box, it should go to the freezer to prevent melting. Cool, eh?

Hubby loved it so much that he gave all his staff at work one log each. To top that, we’ll have a Strawberry Cheesecake for Noche Buena. Yebah!

Our Ballerina

Pink Toes’ Christmas Ball and Musical held last Saturday at Irwin Theater, Ateneo was a success. Thanks for all your well wishes.

I was very tired after it and so is our little ballerina. She had so much fun as I put make-up on her face. She was the one who picked the colors and even insisted that I mix purple and pink. Initially, I put a lighter shade of blush on her cheeks but decided to put a darker pink shade during the retouching. I said she’s ready to dance but she refused because she kept on telling me that we’re not yet done with the make-up. All the while, she wanted me to put the first blush on after the darker one. I have a very kikay girl! Yay!

I have not uploaded the pictures and videos because they’re on the SLR so I’ll leave you with this picture for now.
