Dear Milkita Lollipops

I think childhood will never be complete without lollipops.

When I was a kid, we only have those chocolate or fruity flavored lollies. Now the lollipops have bubble gum and others can paint your lips and tongue a different color. But for a discerning mom like me, who wants to give her children the joy of eating lollies but also making sure they are healthy, Milkita Lollipops should be the way to go.

These lollipops, as advertised, is made from milk and is enriched with calcium. And every time Alex sees that commercial of Juday, she will bug me to buy her that, the pink one.

Yesterday, we played in Tom’s World in The Block. She played in the game where you scoop candies hoping that they will fall in the bin. She tried several times to get a Milkita Lollipop but we failed. I assured her that I will just buy from the grocery. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes of going over the candy asile of Hypermarket, we cannot find it, worse, the people there do not know what I am talking about. In short, Alex got sad and I was forced to just buy her an ordinary pop.

And so, I appeal to the makers of Milkita Lollipops, can you please, pretty please, put some of your stocks in SM groceries?

There is a Cherry Foodarama branch near me and I will try my luck again this weekend but I do not want to disappoint my daughter anymore. Wish me luck, dears.

Thank Goodness We Were Happy People

Yesterday, we decided to have an adventure lunch. I saw a deal in one groupon site that features humongous burgers. I have always wanted to eat big burgers and I thought it was a perfect start because the offered 50% off on food meals + drinks. My mom paid PhP600 for a PhP1200 worth of voucher. Don’t get confused. My mom was the one who paid for the vouchers because I do not have money. Hahaha! I researched before buying it and saw fair reviews.

Anyway, on with the adventure. We were all ready to go when I checked the voucher again. It says the store opens at 2PM. It was 12:30 in my watch. So I said, we just go and just wait if they are still closed. By the way, the merchant is OG’s Stuffed Burgers and Steaks. They are located in Aguirre Avenue BF Paranaque. That is a tricyle-jeepney-tricyle away from us and the fare for 6 people was around PhP140/way.

So we arrived there at 1:30PM. The store was CLOSED, as in no one was there. So we stood and waited outside for the crew to open. After 30 minutes of waiting, two crew arrived in a tricycle. They asked if we have been waiting and how long. Then they said naku wala pa naman kaming stocks, bibili pa lang (we do not have stock yet and we will still buy). They let us in still so we can wait comfortably. How could a restaurant ran out of stocks? Ok, there were holidays but if you are serious with your business, why do you let your kitchen ran out of stocks? At this point, we are still calm and smiling, even laughing to the girls’ antics.

Chic in Black Monday #3: Porche

It was July 18, a day before father’s day, I urged everyone that we already use the coupons I bought for Mr. Kurosawa in Eastwood. I have heard so many raves about their food that is why when Cash Cash Pinoy offered a discount, P250 for a P500 value of food, I did not hesitate and bought 4 vouchers.

That time, the drainage and road works in our side of the village was in full blast. It was muddy everywhere. All of us rode ULY. There were six adults and 2 children on board. Yeah, sometimes ULY transforms into a truck and manages to carry all of us to our destination. Not that day. As Mond drove, we kept on hearing something bumping on the left back tire. For fear that something might not be well, we opted to split. Ate Yam and the two girls took the taxi with me.

When we arrived at the venue, I was surprised that they are not yet there. While waiting, I already ordered for Sukiyaki soup, which is Mond’s favorite. Little did we know that this is the reason why we arrived earlier than them.

Mond chanced upon a vacant slot in the parking lot beside a gorgeous Porche! Now that is truly chic, don’t you agree?
