What do you know, it is that time of the year again! I will make this post short and sweet. Please pardon the cheesy-ness. 😀

Thank you for banging my head hard enough so I can get back to my senses when I needed it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, specially on rough days.
Thank you for knowing that great dads do not spend much money on their children, but time.
Thank you for your kindness for all the people we love and for keeping your feet on the ground, as well as mine.
Thank you for your loyalty and unconditional love.

In God’s grace, I am faithful that we will not go through that seven year itch.

Is it in the Microphone?

Do you sing? On the microphone?

I do sing. But not on the microphone.

When I became a member of the children’s choir in the church I grew up with, the most common feedback I get from the other members is: Lakasan mo kasi ang boses mo. (Sing louder.)

Do you get conscious when you sing? I do. I get very very conscious that I feel I am always out of tune. That is the reason why I do not sing on the microphone. The more I hear my voice, the more conscious I become. So I just sing when someone else is singing. LOL.

It makes me wonder though if there is a kind of microphone that will make your voice nicer to the ears. Perhaps an exciting shure specialty microphones at guitar center can do the trick. You think?

Done with Q1 Exams

Yay!!! Now, I can really say hoooooray for long weekends!!! August has many upcoming holidays and I am really hoping to take advantage of those days to de-stress myself. Nakaka-stress ang exam days. Pagod ka gumawa ng reviewers tapos anxious ka kung ano magiging turn-out.

Having a first grader made exams more challenging because of new subjects. Luckily, their pointers include the type of exam. That gave us, the parents, an idea how to review them. Still, that does not make the process of creating a reviewer fast. I spent about 2-3 hours creating a reviewer for just one subject, to make sure every pointer to review is covered, only to be answered by my student in what, 20-30 minutes?! Kaloka diba?! Thankfully, there were web sites online where we can download some reviewers and activity sheets that are ready to be printed. Kahit papaano, bawas oras sa pag conceptualize at pagsulat.

Pero kinakabahan pa rin ako sa Wika at Sibika. These are new subjects, well, Wika is not entirely a new one, but many new concepts were introduced and we are still in the 1st quarter!

We reviewed well and I kept on reminding Ate Alex to listen to her teacher but I cannot help but be anxious. I’m not a grade-conscious mom but I cannot help it. Are you like me too?
