Weekend update

I took a leave last Friday because I wasn’t feeling well. My body has been aching since when I can’t remember anymore. So, my weekend started on a Friday.

Friday

I told Mon that I’ll just finish some work in the morning while he and Ayex stroll outside. I was a bit disappointed because our Internet connection is not cooperating with me. I was able to finish the things I have to get done at 2pm.

After that, I took care of Ayex while Mon and my in-laws left the house to look for a new place because our landlady is such a witch! Ayex and I took a stroll in the nearby streets. We bought turon and pancit palabok for our snacks. Ayex didn’t want to eat pancit so I looked for some biscuits. I was so amazed to see her feed herself with crackers for the first time! Our baby is now a big girl. *sniff*

Saturday

We went to check out the apartment Mon saw. We met the owner at 10am and finished at 11am. By that time, we already knew that we will arrive late in Las Piñas for Ayex’s vaccination. Fortunately, we were able to make it. Ayex had an anti-chickenpox shot. 2,500 stashed out of our savings. That’s ok since it’s for Ayex’s health.

When we arrived in my mom’s place, I called Dial-A-Spa for a home service. I scheduled a full body massage at 3pm. I also texted Ate Milette, our manikurista. By 5pm, I already have a happy feet and my whole body is still feeling some of the massage pains. It was all good. Thanks to Ma’m Helen for a great spa. Definitely not bad for a first time home service experience.

Sunday

My dad had lunch in my mom’s place. After that, we went to the mall because I said we have to buy Ayex some new pairs for shoes that would match her new clothes (birthday gifts). We were able to buy her 3 pairs of shoes including 1 expensive pair that I, myself, never had a chance to own. I’ll blog about it on a different post. Hehehehe!

After shopping, we heard a mass. Then, its back to reality. We arrived here in QC at around 8pm.

~~~
All in all, it was a tiring but fun-filled weekend.
Revisiting 2007 and planning 2008
I know this is late but as the saying goes, better late than never. Hehehehe.
I’ve been reading a lot of post by friends who evaluated their 2007 and I felt that I have to do the same so I can get a clearer picture of what I have to do for my 2008.
So how was my 2007? Defnitely 2007 was a year full of learning experiences for me. Giving birth on the same month last year was the so far the biggest life changing experience I had. Worklife – definitely one hell of a roller coaster experience! Our team lost 5 “pillars” and 1 newbie. Yes, and most of them left “unfinished work” in our plates. But they had to seek for greener pastures, so that’s fine. Since I gave birth last year, I can say that it paved way to a closer relationship with my family – but not with my friends since my priorities changed a lot – as in BIG TIME.
So what do I want to do this year?
Career
  • work harder (thinks of promotion)
  • involve myself in extra co-curricular activities in the office again
  • lessen my lates (leave na lang)
Family/relationships
  • catch up with friends
  • be closer to my mom and siblings
  • spend more time with Mon
  • continue mommying
  • reach out to my dad
Me, Myself and I
  • lose more weight
  • be closer to God
  • revive my fashion sense
  • save, save, and save
  • love myself more
The uber delayed teambuilding post
Late last year, there was again another organizational change in the company where I work for. However, this time, the impact to our team was quite big. Admittedly, when we were first informed about it, I felt bad. I was agitated for a lot of reasons. Ok, that’s another story.
So to cut the long story short, our team was “merged” with another team from another department. We now all report to 1 big boss. So to foster camaraderie and for everyone to get to know each other, we arranged an overnight teambuilding event at Eagle Point Resort in Batangas.
Too bad we missed Shindie this time. Last teambuilding, it was Sel. When will we be complete?
I can say that the money we paid for this event was all worth it. Every resort personnel greets us when they see us. They are very attentive to our needs. The serving and the taste of the food is way better than in Antulang. The amenities are also great! My whole experience in the resort was very enjoyable and memorable.
If there was something that I didn’t like in this event, it would be the travel. The traffic was so heavy (maybe because it’s almost Christmas time – but duh!).
I’d also like to acknowledge in this post the staff and crews of Chowking Startoll branch. As usual, I had bottles of expressed milk with me on our way back to Manila. Since the traffic was so heavy, I had to put them in ice to keep them cold until I reach home. To my dismay, the Petron treats (Startoll branch) does not sell cube ice and instead, the crew told to me ask Chowking staff if they could give me some! What duh! Fortunately, the staffs and crews of Chowking gave me a half bag full of ice cubes – for FREE! Many thanks to them, my bottles of breastmilk reached our fridge safely.
Till next outing/teambuilding!
Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
