Gmail Theme is Here!

I used to have yahoo mail as my primary email service provider. That was back in my high school days – no gmail yet. When gmail came, one can only have an account though invites. I’m so glad my old boss sent me an invite. Gmail is now my primary email service provider and ymail as my secondary provider.

The gmail console used to have only white and blue as its color. Today, when I opened my mailbox, it looked slightly different then a saw this little text that says gmail now has theme! I happily announced this to my officemates. Too bad because it looks like this is a pilot run because my teammate doesn’t have it yet. Nevertheless, I’m so glad gmail team thought of this! I love looking at my mailbox every now and then! And yes, I do hope this gets deployed soon and more themes to come!

How do you do it?

After attending the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, I still find myself unable to manage my time properly. I have a full time-time work from 10 AM to 7 PM from Mondays to Fridays. Apart from my day job, I also have a small diaper business. I’m also a breastfeeding mom to Ayex and a wife to Mon. How do you fit your 24 hours a day into these roles?

I actually found myself literally counting the total number of hours in my head one night out of desperation. I am able to attend to my duties as an employee and as a mom but not as a wife. Someone told me before that I am first a wife then a mom. That the children are affected by the relationship of the parents. But how?

I wake up at 8 AM and leave at roughly 8:55 AM. I work from 10 AM to 7 PM. When we do not commute, we arrive at home at roughly 8 PM. By that time, Ayex is already eagerly waiting for us. The best practice would be for me to be full or at least not hungry when we come home so I can feed Ayex when she asks for milk. There would be times when we’ll turn of the lights are 11 PM because Ayex still wants to play. That’s 3 hours of bonding and feeding. By 11 PM or earlier, I can already feel the bed calling onto me. Clearly, I am able to fulfill my employee and mommy duties but not my wifey responsibilities. I don’t even have any time for myself.

I know Mon and I ought to have some adult time too, but how? I’m feeling super guilty already but still don’t know what to do.

Holiday Fever

Yesterday, my teammate, Beng, gave us a link that points to a government FAQ. The FAQ contains legal and special holidays in the Philippines. Our boss then sent an email to the whole team asking for our schedule. From business point of view, since we are a global team, he need to anticipate workforce during the holiday. Beng is such a planned lady and was able to respond right-away. As for me, I told myself I had to plan side by side with Mon just so we’re both clear on our schedule.

So Mon and I tried discussing last night while we put Ayex to sleep. We we’re able to have an agreement on where we will spend our Christmas and our New Year. But for the other dates below, we don’t have any plans yet.

How about going to Baguio? Nice idea huh?
