January Top Commenters

A few days ago, it seemed to me that January is soooooo long. I felt like my days are so slow. But now that January has moved over and February is here, I now feel that the days are flying again! 11 months more and it is Christmas once again. For Catholics like me, just a few more days and LENT will be observed!!

And just like last year, I would like to acknowledge the following people for leaving me some love on my posts.

  • Donna Jane Marcuap
  • Connie
  • Diva Fabulosa
  • Cherrey
  • Janelle

When I started giving a $5 token to my top commenter for the month last October, I mentioned that a winner may only win once in a quarter or every three months. In that case, since Donna won last December, Connie will be the one to get the token.

And oh, the start of the year was kind to me. And with that, I am increasing the token to $10! Also, I will be modifying the rules, from three months to two months. I will also create a separate post with the details and list of winners.

Thanks again and I hope this will encourage you more from commenting.

Lemming List 1: Grendha, FitFlops, and iPad

I just finished paying my bills and my savings account is as thin as ever! It is depressing. LOL. But you know what is more depressing? I keep on seeing posts in Facebook about stuff and I can’t help but look at them. If only I could have at least one of these for free, I would be really really really grateful.

  • Grendha Sandals

I am not a fan of jelly shoes but my friend, Pehpot, keeps on raving about its comfort and now I want to have my very own pair of Grendha jellies! Among their 2011 collection, this is what I want to have. The colors are so me! Isn’t is gorgeous?

  • FitFlops Sandals

People who collects this sandals brand never fails to amaze me. They have so much extra money, they can afford to buy more than a pair. If ever I will have my own, preferably the ones below, it will be my most expensive pair of footwear.

  • iPad or any fast and reliable tablet

I know I said before that I do not like any Apple product because they do not allow the plug-and-play functionality. I just do not want to understand why they have to complicate things. But Cookie Dozer is soooo addicting, I bet even more when played on a bigger screen! LOL. If only I will be super lucky and win one in these FB contests.

Oh, I am accepting donations, just in case. :p

Smoking is Dangerous

I knew that already but still decided to try smoking back in my college days. I think I was in second college when I started. I tried it because I want to get a first hand experience of what smokers feel when they lit a stick. Also, I guess I wanted to belong since many of my classmates then have this vice. Since I only have enough money for my daily expenses, I never bought my own cigarette, ever. I only smoke when somebody gives me a stick. I guess that is a factor why I was able to stop smoking for good. Plus I clearly know that it will not do me any good.

danger smokingHere are some facts why smoking is dangerous.

  • Smoking gives you bad breathe, gum disease and tooth decay. If you smoke, do not get surprised when people talk to you at a distance or cover their mouth when you open yours.
  • Smoking affects how oxygen is transported to the brain and can cause headache that can lead to stroke.
  • When smoke passes through a smokers chest, the chemicals in it attack the bronchi and can later on develop into severe coughing. When the bronchi are weaken, infection can easily build up. When infection build up, it can lead to lung cancer.
  • Smokers are also at the risk of getting high blood pressure and stroke. Nicotine, a substance found in cigarettes, rises the blood’s pressure and makes the blood clot easily. Carbon monoxide robs the blood of oxygen and leads to the development of cholesterol deposits on the artery walls.
  • Smoking also affects fertility. It also affects the development of an unborn child in a mother’s womb.

I could go on in enumerating bad effects of smoking but I know, these can already make you stop smoking now. Do not let smoking reduce your life span by ten-twelve years. Quit now while it is not yet too late.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
