My Happy Places

In this world where stress is everywhere, having a place to go when everything drives you crazy is a must.

When I was single and is still studying, my happy place are the thrift shops I pass by on my way home from school. I do not always buy something when I go there because sometimes, all I can do is window shop. But when I have money, I do not go home empty-handed. In fact, there was a time when I was so stressed with school work, I buy myself a little something everyday!

Now that I am married and have two angels, I rarely go to thrift shops. Well because there are none near my place and I do not have much time for myself. But that is ok. Because of that, I discovered the joy that is Daiso, where almost everything is sold at PhP88. They have kitchenware, toiletries, school supplies and almost everything you may need in your home. It is haven for me. Another place that makes me giddy (although broke) is BOOKSALE where second hand and brand new books are sold. You know that feeling of being able to buy a handful of books worth only PhP10-35 each? Ecstatic!

I almost always break my self-imposed budget whenever I visit these places but it would not have it any other way.

Going Two and Counting

It has been almost two months since I last left home for work. The are things that I miss, such as: airconditioned workplace all day, being able to drink juice without having the need to make it yourself, a choice between water, soda, juice or coffee, enough time to do what needs to be done in the bathroom, lunch-outs, and of course, just hanging out with friends.

There are also things I rather not remember like commuting to and from work when it is raining hard, , hard days at work (like when reports are due) and leaving crying girls in the morning.

I know I will continue to miss certain things I have when I was still working, like Christmas and 14-month bonus but I do not regret my decision of becoming a work-at-home-mom. To me, it is more important that I start raising my kids myself than the material things. But of course, if I can have both, I would be really really grateful!

Shoe Addict

It was a holiday and we have nothing to do at home. My sister-in-law will be leaving soon and she wants to make the most of her time, not just bumming around. So we went to this nearby mall to stroll and find something worth buying. I saw loads of shoes I wanted to buy!

Anyway, this mall is not like the big malls in our area. They are composed of small retailers, more commonly known here as tiangge. Some stalls sell high-end and expensive stuff and the others, something that fits ones budget. So we went around and I remembered I wanted to buy Ayex another school bag because what hubby originally bought her is very big for her needs. I was successful at that. I was able to buy a really nice bag that is within my budget.

As we strolled some more, I kept on noticing all the displayed shoes. You see, this is one of my weaknesses. There was one stall that I checked because one of the pairs seems to be calling on me. And as the sales person saw me, she told me that they had an on-going promo. It was very tempting but I knew I do not have a need for new shoes.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
