Nipping Your Child’s Nails

I have a thing with finger and toe nails. I despise nails with black dirt under them. I hate seeing kids with long nails, specially on their fingers and I hate it even more when they are dirty.

Having said that, I make sure that I cut my children’s nails regularly: once to twice a week for the fingers and once or twice a month for the toes.

When my kids were infant, I only cut their finger nails after a month or two from when they were born. So that they will not scratch their pretty face with their long nails, I put mittens on their tiny hands. When I remove the mittens, I replace it right away but without not cleaning the in-betweens of their fingers. You know, dirt can form in them, specially when the tiny hands perspire.

Now that my girls are older, I have made trimming of their nails more fun. We play pretend salon where I am their salon girl and they are my customers. Both of them line up for their turn. I nip each nail according to its shape and make sure that the sides are untouched. After trimming, I do a little filing to smoothen each finger nail’s tip. I also make sure that there are no dirt left on the skin of the fingers.

Timing plays a role when nipping my kids’ nails. More often than not, I like nipping their nails after they take a bath. In that case, the nails are softer and the skin is already clean. I avoid nipping their nails when they are sleepy because they get irritated easily, which may wound their delicate hands and feet.

iBlog8: To Go or Not To Go?

In a few week’s time, a huge summit will be attended by professional and aspiring bloggers. While I consider myself neither or the two, I still want to attend the said summit. It will be on May 25 and 26 in UP. The venue is very near me, two jeepney rides to be exact, about 30-45 minutes travel time depending on the traffic. A number of my friends have already registered for both days and they have been urging me to go with them. Actually, looking at the topics that will be discussed, I know I will get a lot from it if I attend. I will be able to use the plastic business cards I have ordered months ago (which I plan to distribute and exchange during events) for the first time. The thing that is holding me back is the duration of the summit. Both days will run the whole day. I have not left my kids that long on a weekday and I am afraid those who will take care of them will not be able to handle them well.

What do you suggest, should I go or not?

Celebrity Split-ups

I have mixed emotions about the latest celebrity split-up news that I read.

The first one I read on what about Derek and Angelica. I am sad. I think they are one of the most beautiful couples in showbiz. I think their relationship is one of the bests (not that I know everything). I really think they are made for each other. And I still hope that this is not the end to their relationship.

The next one is about John Lloyd and Shaina. I am happy! LOL. Let us just say that I really do not like Shaina for JLC. There is something in her that I dislike and yes, I am not a fan.

‘Nuff said.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
