5 in the Air, Hi-5 Philippines is Here!

You read that correctly! Hi-5 Philippines, with an all-Filipino cast singing the songs in English and Filipino is here!

My two girls are soooo in love with the Australian group. They consume this program on cable almost three times a day. Kahit ako, napapakanta at medyo memorize ko na rin ang ibang kanta! So imagine how thrilled they were when they found out that there will be a local version of the show the love so dearly.

TV5 will launch this local version of the award-winning Australian children’s edutainment program on Monday, June 15, 2015. It will air during weekdays every 8:30 in the morning and 3:45 in the afternoon. Ang mga bagets na pang-umaga sa school, may chance pang makisayaw at makikanta sa Hi-5 gang sa hapon! Ang cool nun diba?

It is my pleasure to introduce the cast to you.

The dynamic new quintet all boast of extensive backgrounds in performing arts and will now channel that energy to engage kids in music, imaginative play, social interaction, and developmental growth in a fun way.

“With Hi-5 Philippines, we are very excited to bring the world-class edutainment experience closer to more Filipino kids. This is our way of not only showcasing world-class Filipino talent, but more importantly, helping shape our country’s future generations,” said Noel Lorenzana, TV5 president and CEO.

“We are proud to partner with Hi-5 World in introducing to millions of Filipino kids a local version of this highly interactive edutainment show. We are up to the challenge of producing the show that is at par with global standards,” said Jane Basas, Media 5 Corporation president.

Launched in Australia in 1999, Hi-5 rapidly grew in popularity over the years. It has won three Logie Awards for Most Outstanding Children’s Program, five ARIA Awards for Best Children’s Album and five Australian DVD and Video Industry Awards, among other achievements. It was then that Hi-5 started expanding its reach by franchising the show across North America, Europe, Australasia, Latin America, and Asia.

Alam niyo ba, first time ito na nag assemble ng entirely new cast ang Hi-5 World. Currently, there are only two sets of Hi-5 cast: the Australian group and our very own Filipino group! Nakakaproud diba!

M and I were fortunate to be invited to the Hi-5 Philippines media launch. Ay grabe, starstruck ata si M! Pero she danced and sang her heart out together with the all-Filipino cast noong nahimasmasan na siya! At alam niyo ba, gusto pa niya imbitahin si Fely Irvine sa birthday celebration niya bukas!

Oh yes, M met Fely! She introduced the Hi-5 Filipino cast.

And So I Turned 30

3 decades. I am blessed to be alive this long and to have what I have right now. It is not many, but I believe I have enough. Every other thing comes as bonus.

So how did I spend my birthday, you ask.

It was the week after exams and I was soooo thankful for that. After a very grueling week, finally, chillax naman. And so I thought.

M had fever two days prior to my birthday. Biglaan lang. After ko maging tutor and labandera, nurse naman ang peg ko. The work moms do. I am so amazed how we can do all those things and thankful at the same time because I am able to get pass it. On my birthday, there was an event at A’s school and I had to accompany her. I tagged along M, who was already fever-free that time, so we all can go to the doctor right after A’s school activity. So yeah, I spent the morning of my birthday with the girls, at school and at the doctor.

I did not want a grand celebration. All I wanted was to eat crabs and shrimps. Actually shrimps lang pala ang gusto ko at lobsters. Ayoko na ng crabs kasi mejo hassle na for me. (Nakakakain lang ng lobsters, split na with crabs. Hahaha). So after the hospital visit, the husband, kahit puyat, drove to the nearby market and bought shrimps and crabs. We cooked butter-ginger shrimps and sweet-chili crabs. There was pancit care of MIL and FIL. Then there was Blue Bunny Mint Bon-bon ice cream, which I had to put extra chocolate chip morsels kasi ang gusto ko talagang ice cream ay yung may nangunguya at nakakagat.

M kept asking about the cake. She wanted to blow a candle since that is what we do on birthdays right? I did not have a cake because we still have plenty of banana cupcakes in the freezer. But we were already lazy to prepare it. Until the other day, she was still asking about it. Hahaha!

I got tons of greetings over at FB. Thank you to all who remembered.

And then we were back to the regular grind the next day.

I am blessed and I pray that I can keep on sharing the blessings I have.
