I Miss You, Dear Blog!

I have not posted anything new for two weeks now. I have so many to share but so little time. There is the Tagaytay trip that I promised, then Alex’s Q3 report card, my day-off with college super friends and other day to day ups and downs.

Maxyn got sick the following week after our Tagaytay trip. Her fever was so high that I thought our family will bout with Dengue for the third time. Thank God, after three days, she was fever-free. Our pedia said that the flu virus now is even tougher and can cause diarrhea and vomiting. Please be extra careful and wash your hands thoroughly as much as you can.

Since Maxyn got sick, I was not able to work on the web site that I was building. It will be launched this week through baller ids and I had to work on it double-time last week. I made the deadline and I am proud of the new Don Carlo Cavina School web site.

Then Ate Rossel, our house help, went home to her hometown for a month long vacation. So yes, we are helper-less. And that explains it.

If only it is easy to blog using ginger, my S2.

Where Did My Food Go?

And we are back from our Tagaytay trip! It was the best way to reward Alex for all the study time we did for her exams last week. It was freezing cold in Tagaytay. The girls enjoyed our stay and they were able to bond really well with their Tito Kevin. I will post more details about the trip soon, with pictures, of course. And yes, I tried the zip line and the girls rode the cable car! Cool, right?

Anyway.

It has become my habit to check my weight using our digital weighing scale every now and then. This morning was the first time that I checked my weight after the holidays. And what do you know, the numbers looked as if they were lying! But I tried like five times and I get the same numbers! I tried again before making this post and the numbers I got were within the normal range I get before the holidays. I am 111.8Lbs when I just woke up in the morning. When I weigh in after eating lunch, I get to 112.4Lbs. When I am so full, I get 114. My range before the holidays is 111-116 and I am still within that range now, after all the merriment and eating I did last Christmas and New Year! What happened to all the food I ate?

I honestly do not know. I just like to think that my body’s metabolism got a lot better that I am now able to burn more calories. Or that my body got so tired from all the malling and window shopping we did during the holidays that it burned right away whatever I take in. Or maybe, all the stressful thoughts I had during the holidays (being the host can be really toxic, specially if you have some OC tendencies), prevented the calories from entering my body, thus the no weight gain. Or maybe all of the above!

Whatever the science behind my no weight gain is, I am thankful. That means I do not have to stress myself how to shed of excess pounds again. I can simply focus my energy on matters that need my attention at this time, my body and weight excluded. I just have to continue following the 50-25-25 scheme like a low carb diet plan. That means 50% of your plate should have fruits and vegetables, 25% good source of protein and 25% good source of carbohydrates. Try it too and you will see a big change in yourself.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
