Storing Breast Milk

In a few weeks, my maternity leave will be over and it’s time for me to go back to work. It sucks I know but I don’t have so much choice right now. Unlike in Ayex’s time, I only expressed and stored milk a day before I went back to work. That time, we only have enough breast milk supply for a day.

Being a second-timer mom taught me that I should start early. Doing so will not only give adequate supply for Maxyn when I go to work, it also allowed me to have some me-time. Since I wanted to store milk earlier, I researched online what storage can I use. I have some bottles but using those requires too much space in the fridge. And so I thought of looking for an alternative. I found that most breastfeeding moms abroad use Lansinoh Milk Bags. I’m not sure if it was available in the malls so I checked ebay.ph and was glad there is a local seller there. I now have 50 bags on hand. As for the breast milk, I currently have 4 bottles of 4oz and 1 bag of 6oz. I still have a few weeks to store some more. And to make sure my hard work won’t go to waste, I also researched on how to properly store breast milk. I know this already since I breastfed Ayex for 3 years but I’m posting the information here just so I won’t forget. Who knows one of my visitors would like to know it too. 🙂

Hapag ng Pag-asa

Joey Velasco Hapag ng Pag-asa
I don’t know who Joey Velasco is until the news that he passed away already aired last week. In the same news airing, they showed the photo above, the Philippine version of The Last Supper. I can’t help it but be teary-eyed upon seeing the painting. Until now I can feel my nostrils tighten. There’s something in it I can’t explain. It is full of compassion.

May you rest in peace, Mr. Joey Velasco.

How will I spend an extra $100?

This is my entry to Noel and Levy’s Thanksgiving Contest.

I am not rich but I can say we have enough. Given that, I’ve always set my priorities when it comes to financial matters and I make it a point to follow them. What’s sense does it make if I don’t right? So if I win this contest, it will be pure extra and I’d love to spend it in the following ways.

I will give an amount for Baby Bella’s operation. Being a mom, it pains me too when I read about her condition. In fact, I’m sort of being paranoid lately. Initially, I thought only boys are prone to it but now a little girl is suffering from it and needs to be operated. It makes me think what if it happens to our new bundle of joy, Maxyn? I pray that it won’t. And while Baby Bella is in need of our prayers, she also needs our financial support and so I’m giving her part of the $100 if I win.

Also, I will get this blog its own domain. Yes I know, I should have thought of that before. Well, I’m a newbie you know. I will buy this blog its own domain and will probably buy one more for another blog. Yes, I’m thinking of creating another blog. I don’t know yet what it will be about and your suggestions are very welcome.

Lastly, I’ve been thinking of having my hair rebonded even before I got pregnant. Since the pregnancy, my hair didn’t get any treatment other than the Power Massage from Reyes Haircutters. I think it’s high time that I give my hair proper care to bring back some of my lost confidence. I want those good hair days back.

How about you, would you like to win $100? Did you just say yes? Create your entry to the contest now!

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
