Chic in Black Monday #1: Charles & Keith Shoes

My sister, Gabby, availed HSBC’s Red MasterCard last year. Back then, they have an on-going promo with Charles and Keith.

Spend P3,000 monthly on your new HSBC Red MasterCard to take home free pairs of shoes from Charles & Keith. Get one pair worth P1,249 every month, absolutely free!

Talk about a very tempting and good deal eh? So when she and her officemates go out, they use her credit card. She was able to claim two shoes. For the last voucher, I asked her if that can be her Christmas present to me and she was kind enough to say yes!

So before we went to our official Christmas break, we hook up in Eastwood. We had lunch at Fazoli’s then we went to buy my shoes. I was already sure what I wanted – a black pumps with not so high heels. When we entered Charles and Keith’s boutique, I can feel the shoes calling on to me. But I was in my kuripot mode that time so I tried to stick with the voucher’s amount, but failed.

Charles and Keith Black Suede Pumps

But I was contented. I bought a new pair of Charles and Keith Black Suede Pumps of only PhP200. I wear this at work every now and then. I like wearing it most with mini-skirts. It is comfortable so I do not worry even when I commute to and from work.

Celebrating Women’s Month with a Dove Giveaway

I love being a woman despite the numerous complications. I know you know what I mean. There are a lot of characteristics that makes us different from the other gender, both good and bad. One thing that I like about myself and being a woman generally is that when we decide to take care of things, we do our best. And most of the time, we succeed.

If you frequent my blog, you will know that one of the plans I made for this year involves my skin. I vowed that I will say goodbye to dry skin for good. It started with frequent moisturizing with lotion and eventually followed with changing my soap.

I discovered Dove. Before I really do not like using it because I was not used to the moisturized feeling of it. I do not like that feeling of soap still in my skin. I am not used to the smooth-feeling skin. Then I realized that is exactly how it works. It does not take all the moisture of my skin unlike the other soaps I used. I thought that when my skin feels slippery, there are still soap residues. I was wrong.

It has been months since I started using Dove Cream Bar soap and I am happy that my skin is now very smooth and fine. Because of this, I wanted to share with you this experience by having a little Dove giveaway.

Hair Rebond by Victor Ortega Salon

My hair is one problem area that I really want to fix. No matter what clothes I wear, I do not feel as confident as before because my hair is a mess, always dried by wind. So when my mom told me that she will have her hair rebonded again, I said I want one as well.

Last December we went to Victor Ortega Salon in their Boni branch. This is also where my sister Gabby had her hair done. My mom previously had her rebonded at David’s Salon. Gabby convinced her that it is no longer practical because their charge is too expensive.

Prior to our makeover day, my mom kept on telling me to reserve for an appointment but i hesitated. We arrived at the salon at around 10am. I was so surprised to see more than 20 ladies being done already! We thought we would be waiting for a while to be attended to. But after we filled up an information sheet, Cenen, our stylist, called my mom and the process began.

In between chemical application to our hair, they rinse it, blow dry, then iron. The whole shebang lasted for five hours. Cenen and his juniour stylists handled our hair very carefully, answering every question I have.

Everyone in the salon, stylist and receptionist alike, were very busy but they managed to greet all who came in with a warm smile. Even that stylist with an angry aura greeted people and busied himself with her girls.

After the hair makeover, my mom and I concluded that the visit was worth it. I opted for a hair rebond with Kerastase Vita Cement treatment. The whole thing cost me PhP2000 ($47), exclusive of tip.
