Maxyn turns 1 month today

She’s simply the most adorable big baby!

We went to the pedia the other day to have her nape checked. She has irritated skin due to the scorching heat (you know what happens when the baby’s skin rub with another skin?). Anyway, we’re treating it already and I’m glad she’s adjusting well to the aircon now. During the pedia visit, we also found that she now weighs 11.3lbs. She already gained 2.5lbs in a span of one month!

She’s now able to control her head which he lifts very often. Apart from that she’s been practicing her grip specially now that I’ve cut her fingernails.

As a tradition, we celebrated her 1 month of being with us with a small treat. I cooked spaghetti while Ate Meriam made maja blanca.

Maxyn has been pretty fuzzy though since this afternoon. It looks like Ate passed some cold virus to her. She would cry when she can’t get her sleep and would only sleep when carried. Kindly include her in your prayer that the virus may go away immediately. Meanwhile, wish me luck tonight. I’m anticiapting it would be a tiring night for me.

Late night delights

Being awake in the middle of the night makes me hungry and recently, I had cravings I can’t get off my mind. Thanks to my sister, Gab, and to hubby I finally got over them. Well actually, I wanted more. Hahaha!

Jack's Loft New York Cheesecake Last week I was able to ask Gabby to buy me a slice of New York Cheesecake from Jack’s Loft. Jack’s Loft is located in Eastwood (where we both work) and I was super glad it is accessible to hubby on his way home. She bought it for me during her lunch break. I’m glad she still has extra money to buy it because payday is still two weeks ahead. Hubby dropped by her office to get it. I was really excited to see him that night because of the cheesecake. Hahaha! It was one happy midnight snack for me.

Starbucks Iced White Chocolate Mocha Apart from the cheesecake, I’ve been craving for Starbucks’ Iced White Chocolate Mocha too. I finally had one last night care of hubby. If I remember it correctly, it’s been more than a year since I had a cup of this drink even if it’s my favorite. I avoided caffeine as much as I can because I was breastfeeding and was pregnant. Yeah, last night was an exception. I asked hubby to have my drink decaf and non fat. So even if Maxyn was awake from 12-6am last night, I was ok and was not too tired.

Putting Maxyn to bed makes me crazy

She sleeps perfectly well during day time. All I have to do is feed her, burp her and cuddle her a little and she’s on her way to dreamland.

Yes I know, babies tend to mix day and night once they’re out of the mom’s womb but does it really have to be this way?

Maxyn wakes up at 12 midnight to feed. After burping her, she would ask to be fed again. Most of the time, she would cry loudly even when she’s feeding already. I don’t know why but I’m sure she’s not being overwhelmed by the milk flow. There would even be times when she’ll let go of the breast and cry after a while. And I thought she’s done feeding already!

From 12 midnight, it’ll take care about 6 or more times of feeding. By 3am, I’m already drowsy and tired but she won’t sleep yet with occasional loud cries. I won’t really mind the crying except that wakes her older sister. And when Ayex wakes up, it makes me doubly stressed as she would also cry when Maxyn cries! Riot, eh? The thing with Ayex, she wants her back to be scratched until she dozes off. But I have only two hands, both are busy calming and putting the little one to sleep. I seriously thought of using my feet but I don’t know how it could do me good. I know it is not Maxyn’s fault, she doesn’t even know what’s happening.

What about hubby? Well he comes home at around 2:30am. By the time he gets home, I’m already 2 1/2 hours awake and most likely tired of putting two girls to sleep. Besides, he’s also tired a day full of work.

Back to Maxyn. Last night she slept at around 4am (12-4am) and by 5:30am, she’s awake again asking for milk! My head is already spinning and I seriously want to sleep! The thought of everyone waking up to her loud cries only makes me more stressed.

How long will this take? Today I’m planning to keep her awake for a good one hour before I put her to sleep. And I had some 4 hours of sleep this afternoon. This day should be a better day for all of us.
