Forced to Break a Promise

When I was still pregnant I promised Ayex that after giving birth, we will go out and ride the train. We used to give her train rides before I got pregnant on our free weekends. We would ride the MRT from Trinoma to Taft and back. Sometimes, we would go down at Cubao station so we can ride the LRT2 from there to Santolan and from Santolan to Recto. It was like wasting money but we don’t mind because Ayex enjoys the ride so much. So much that when she sees a train passing by, she would squeal out of sheer delight and would wave bye bye to the train.

On Friday, I have plans of going to Ortigas and Makati to pick up the prizes we recently won from a magazine and a web site. I planned of bringing her with me so she can ride the train. But she’s been acting up terribly these days. Despite giving her rewards, she won’t finish her food and later on asks for biscuits. She won’t clean up her toys despite threatening her of throwing them. She won’t even sleep for a good 8 hours! She shouts at people when she gets frustrated or when they do something she doesn’t like. And when she’s awake, all she thinks of are watching the television and playing endlessly.

I could let all the above acts pass because I really want her to ride the train and besides, it’s a promise. I might not be able to give her that when I go back to work in three weeks. But what she did just a few hours ago told me she does not deserve it.

She didn’t finish her lunch. When MIL came home from the doctor, she gave her a lollipop as her pasalubong and she wanted it opened immediately which hubby did not permit. Next thing you know she’s already answering back. Hubby asked her Sino ba ang daddy mo? and Ayex answered Wala.. It made hubby very angry and me too. She cried and kept on calling to her lola. What a brat! We need to break this little girl’s evil horns or else she’ll be a pain to us when she grows older.

Before hubby left for work he said she cannot sleep with us. If he finds her in our bed, he’ll wake her up and bring her to her lolo and lola’s room. I will miss her by my side but she should learn the lesson. I told Ate Meriam and EmEm not to take care of her in front of her lola. Everything she needs should be asked from her lolo and lola. I told her that if she won’t return her toys where they should be, they will go to the garbage bag I will prepare. This set up will continue as long as she doesn’t obey me and hubby.

Good luck to us.

Invitation to Maxyn’s Christening

I am very pleased with the design. I made up the message because I don’t like the usual text found online. We had an impromptu photo shoot because Ate Meriam and Em-Em didn’t like the original picture I used. Max was very cooperative! Hahaha

Here’s the original draft.

Time flies by so fast. Two weeks after the christening, I will be back at work. Hay, I don’t want to leave my girls yet.

Today’s Accomplishements

I am truly a wiser mom now. I managed to leave the house for about 5 hours to do some errands. Back when I just gave birth to Ayex, I can’t even be gone for an hour so this is really a huge improvement on my being a mommy. Anyway, here are the things we (hubby and I ran errands separately and we’re both successful) accomplished today.

  • Hubby was able to book the church near our place for Maxyn’s christening. He was also able to temporarily book Kowloon, West Avenue for the reception. Temporary because booking needs personal appearance which he wasn’t able to do. We were hoping to find a reception that is nearer to the church but the choices we had did not have what we need.
  • Hubby was able to have ULY, the car, washed. It was lunch time when he reached the church and the parish office is closed so he opted to go to the nearby car wash first to have ULY cleaned.

  • I was able to pick up the Avent items I bought in ebay. I bought my very own electric pump and another set of washable breast pads. I refused to have them shipped because I’m scared as this is the first time I’m buying something online that costs more than a thousand pesos. Good thing I know how to ask for directions.

  • I bought new tops for home use. I pick up the Avent stuff in Masangkay, Manila which is walking distance to Divisoria. Since I’m already in the area, I decided to stroll a bit and do a little shopping. It’s been a while you know.
  • Since I’m passing by Trinoma on my way home, I decided to drop by Landmark to get a new bag organizer for myself and accessories organizer for Ayex and Dicey. I had to buy a new one for myself because I used the current one for the baby bag. While the new accessories organizers, I will replace Ayex’s because it can’t hold her stuff anymore and the one, a gift to Dicey.
  • My last activity for my day out is go to the salon and have some hair treatment. I had power massage and hair spa. I love having power massage for my scalp because I can feel that it is clean after the procedure. I was suppose to have hot oil only but the stylist convinced me to have a hair spa treatment instead because it is better than the first.

My next assignment is to create a tarpaulin and invitation for Maxyn’s christening. I’m also planning to go out again on Friday to claim some prizes we won. That’s how my day was. I hope you had a productive day too!

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
