Scented Candles in the Home

I am fond of collecting things and one of those I religiously collect are scented candles. I have soy wax scented candles and those with aroma therapy essential oils. I especially like the bright colored ones compared to other colored scented candles. I recently bought a baies candle by diptyque, a leading manufacturer of scented candles sold all over the world. Baies is a blend of blackcurrant and Bulgarian rose. The smell is so good that I light it almost all the time. It certainly helps calm my nerves when I am feeling stressed and lightens any room in the house literally and figuratively.

Making Listening to Audiobooks a Habit

I love reading books. There was a time when I read about two books in a week. But now that I am so busy with my family and work, I will be lucky if I get to read one book in a month. I was not really interested in audio books before but now that I do not have the luxury of time, I turn to it more often. I sometimes listen while I am cooking, ironing clothes, and washing the dishes. It is killing two birds with one stone. The internet is abuzz with websites that offer free audiobook download. There are thousands of titles to choose from. Audiobooks can never be lost and they are cheaper than books so it is really worth trying.

Prevent Sore Throat

The family day was a huge success, according to my own standards. The dance was a success too, except that towards the end, I was dancing while holding Maxyn because she thought I was missing! LOL.

I was probably one of the busiest during that event as I explain each game to the players. Then there was the dance. And my own children to take care of. After explaining about three games, my throat is already aching. In fact, as I write this, I feel like scratching my throat. I feel like something is stuck to it.

So here are a few tips to prevent sore throat.

  • Drink often. Keep a bottle of water handy. If you can drink water that is at room temperature, the better.
  • Do not talk much, specially when there is no need. I think this is a major problem for me because I am very very talkative.
  • Use a microphone when talking to a large number of people. In this way, you do not need to shout and you will not force your throat and voice box.
  • If you feel that your throat is already aching and itchy, gargle with antiseptic liquid that works for you. If you do not have any, warm water with salt works wonders.
  • Rest and stop talking.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
