Maxyn the Exlorer

My youngest, Maxyn, is such an explorer. She likes going to every part of the house and tinkering whatever she finds amusing. It makes it harder for me to look after her because she does not want to stay in one place. The good part is, wherever I go, she follows. Well not all the time.

Her latest discovery is the socket in our room. You see, the extension cord that we use has an on/off button. When it is on, there is a red light to it. I am not sure if she gets distracted by it but she kept on pulling the plug of the extension cord from the socket. It is dangerous, I know, which is why I kept on telling her not to touch it but she kept on repeating it! If only I could disguise the socket with some switch covers, so she will not recognize it anymore and leave it alone.

More adventures to come!

Childhood Memories

My eldest is now in the age that she enjoys outdoor play. One time, she was watching Disney Junior where Special Agent Oso and another kid learned how to play hop scotch. Since then, she kept on bugging me to play it outside. In our language, we called it piko in my childhood days. Too bad Special Agent Oso did not elaborate on the rules, my daughter refuses to listen to me. LOL.

Other then piko I also played other outdoor and indoor games. I played with rubber bands, chinese garter, jump ropes, hula hoops, tops and even yo yo s.

If you think I was boyish in my younger days, no, I was not. I just enjoyed everything and believed that all children can play with things they want. And this is what I also want my kids to experience. As much as possible, I want them to engage in more active play rather than playing with electronic gadgets most of the time.

Help a Child Become an “e.Studyante” With P&G Promo Packs

I am all for promoting good education. In fact, that is the reason why despite having no more permanent job, I continue my donations with Unicef Philippines because I know every donation will help a child continue with his/her studies. Even me, I worked hard as I study so I can help my mom send me to school. And thus, when I learned that our community is brewing up something that concerns education, I gave my all out support for it. Yes, you read that right. Pinay Mommies Community supports the P&G e.Studyante Program

e.studyante

Here is the official press release.

School children in the Philippines face many challenges; sometimes, even the simple walk to school in the morning can be an arduous journey. Students cross rivers, traverse mountain peaks, even go through battlegrounds just to go to school. And when they arrive, they are faced with meager resources – overcrowded classrooms, the lack of books and school supplies – which all make for an uninspiring learning environment.

That is why starting on its 76th year, Procter and Gamble (P&G) Philippines is setting out to make these students’ journey more worthwhile. Taking its commitment to education to the next level, P&G will provide technology and connectivity to Filipino students nationwide with its e.Studyante program.

Along with partner Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Synergeia Foundation, the e.Studyante program will provide kids from selected schools with an XO Laptop from the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Association. The XO laptop is a rugged, low-power, connected laptop especially designed to make learning more engaging and more fun for students.

Students can use their laptops not just to learn but to share and connect with each other, with their communities and with the world – helping them all become an “e.Studyante.”

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
