Breastfeeding Discussions

As many of you know, I am a breastfeeding mom and I am proud of it. I am glad that these days, there is a wider support for moms like me. Even the government is showing support to breastfeeding. I really think it is high time that more moms should give this natural feeding a shot.

Anyway, I am friends with one breastfeeding/entrepremom over at Facebook and she has posted some questions recently that surprised me or made me think.

Her first question was: If you are to sell your breastmilk, how much will you sell it?.

I am very blessed that after six months, Maxyn is still purely breastfed. It is not easy, I tell you. But I am determined and with everyone’s support, I am able to express enough for her daily consumption and still save for a few days. I think I have stock in our freezer that is good for a week or less. So if I will decide to sell my breastmilk, I can. But I will not. Instead of selling them, I will look NICU’s that are in need of it and will gladly donate them. In that process, I hope to inspire the mommies to also breastfeed. I really wish I can become a breastfeeding counselor someday.

Her other question was: If you will ask your hubby to pay you PhP4000 (the price of formula milk consumption) for every month you breastfeed, where will you spend it?. I wasn’t thinking when I answered her question. My answer was I’ll spend it for self beautification. Hahaha! Of course that is not my final answer. I don’t have a definite answer now. I think I have to think about it. Maybe on gadgets, clothes, kids’ stuff? How I wish my hubby will really pay me for breastfeeding our kids! Hahaha!

How about you, if you were asked the questions above, what would be your response?

My Last Buy for 2010

Actually, the last item I bought for 2010 is the most expensive one but is not for me.

Last December 30, we went to SM Southmall, determined to get my mom her own laptop. Determined because the laptop promos are until December 31 only. We were successful with our objective and here’s what we got.

Meet ASMB. She is Acer’s AS4745G-352G32Mnks. We got her from Accent Micro where we also got Sapphire and two other laptops. It is so thin and I love it. We even joke my mom that we’ll give her Sapphire, our laptop, in exchange for ASMB (Ayex Sungit, Maxyn Bugnutin). Aside from her thinness, here are other reasons why ASMB is a sure winner.

Instead of the free Windows 7 starter, we opted for the RAM upgrade. We added PhP500 so that ASMB’s RAM is now 4GB. Thanks to my friend, Neil, for helping me install its operating system. I have set it up and its now ready for their use. I just hope my sisters will take care of it while my mom is still an LGU slave. Haha! How about you, what was your last buy for 2010?

My 2011 Goals

I went back to my posts last January 2010 to check the goals I wrote and was surprised that I actually achieved three out of four. But those goals are materials. I just realized today that I didn’t write any other plan (read: resolutions). I actually can’t believe that because I feel like I wrote something before.

Anyway, if you don’t have any idea on what were my material goals last year, you can click here. I want to post the links of the goals I achieved but looks like I haven’t blogged about them except for my camera. Boo me! I really have tons of things I should post about but forgets them. *deep sigh here*

Anyway, let me continue with my 2011 goals.

I was watching TV during the holiday season when I heard someone said that when you choose a resolution, you should stick to just a few (like only two) and you should pronounce them and make people know it. (That’s a lot of and there) So this year, I am focusing my resolutions and they’re as follows:

1. Take care of my skin and hair. I don’t have a skin care regimen because I am lazy and I realized that it is high time that I start loving my skin more. As for my hair, you have seen how unruly my hair is on pictures. Whatever I wear, I don’t feel confident because of my wind-blown hair. This year, I will regain that confidence. I started with a hair rebond last December 26 and I promise to take care of my hair so it won’t go back to being buhaghag.

2. Get rid of my pregnancy fats. It has been six months and I still have a huge belly that sometimes people mistaken me as pregnant. This year, I will exercise regularly to get the shape I have before I got pregnant with Ayex.

3. Materially, our goal is to finally own a house and a sustainable business.

That’s it. I will go back here again next year and hopefully I am successful in achieving these goals.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
