Sense of Time

I’ve been meaning to blog about a lot of things. However, since we only have 4 work days this week and it is reporting week again, my time is being consumed by work. Read: Toxic.

Anyway, I just want to share with you that I think my little Maxyn has developed a sense of time. (There will be Maxyn posts in the coming days.) Why did I say that?

Before I leave work, I usually call home to check on my girls. Lately, Ate Meriam or Em would always tell me that Maxyn is already cranky when I ask them how is she. Then when I get home, they tell me that Maxyn gets cranky at a certain time. That time is when I usually arrive at home. The thing is, since we had several long weekends recently, there are too much work that needs to be done with less time. Yes, that means I had to go overtime the past few days. So when I call them at the time I’m supposed to be home already, I always hear Maxyn crying and even shouting.

Amazing, eh? I tried reading online about this topic but most results I get from Mr. G are about psychology. I just find it amazing because my Maxyn is only 4 months, turning 5 months actually on the 8th.

There’s one result though that I find interesting. And I agree with it, consistency helps build an infant’s sense of time. Perhaps that registered to Maxyn early, thus the crankiness.

How about you, does your baby and not-so-baby-anymore has developed sense of time?

Encouraging Your Baby’s Development

Toys and play are great ways of encouraging your baby’s development and milestones. This is the reason why I kept on looking for a play gym. The thing is, most play gyms at the malls can be very expensive. Babies grow very fast and buying expensive stuff may sometimes be impractical because they just outgrow them. I’m glad I found the perfect play gym for Maxyn over Sulit.com.ph, thanks again to Ms. Marie. By perfect, I meant it was within my budget and that the item is in good condition.

Fisher-Price Miracles & Milestones 3-in-1 Gym
Below is the product description and features from Amazon.com.

Product Description

This delightful and versatile gym will let you provide just the right stimulation as your baby grows and develops. Use the overhead gym as Baby lays beneath it on her back. With the arch up over Baby’s head, you can place toys in different ways. Put some to gaze up at and others within her reach. When little hands bat, the toys will move and bounce. Has Baby moved on to tummy time? Place her on her tummy and move the toys down into slots on the fleece-covered floor arch. Position toys to encourage reaching and grasping, and place the mirror where it will reflect Baby’s image. When Baby is able to sit up, you can move the upper arch down, add toys in various positions all around. Fill all eight slots to surround Baby with stimulating fun. Unleashing Ayex’s Creativity

Ayex received several mega blocks as gifts. When hubby is around, I appreciate it very much when he plays with Ayex using these blocks because we discover how creative she is. The above picture is a helicopter which she and hubby created. Not in the picture is a dog and a duck, which she says are the helicopter’s passengers. Ain’t she creative? Apart from making stuff out of the blocks, she also use them when she plays pretend games. Most of the time, she bakes them as cookies or cooks them as pancakes.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
