Our sweet little angel turned one year old yesterday! Yeah, it’s been a year since I gave birth to the apple of our eye.

Despite the fact that Ayex has entered a new stage in her life, yes, toddlerhood, she’ll remain as mommy’s and daddy’s baby girl.

Happy birthday honey/butchok/chokulit!

Housewife only

So I’ve been on leave since December 26, 2007. I’ve been able to cuddle, play, and feed Ayex a lot! I was able to catch up with the whole family in Las Piñas for a whole week. And guess what, I watched TV until late nights, which starts at around 9AM! What a vacation, right?

So I watched a lot of TV while we were in LP. We have a cable there so the choice as to what we want to watch to really bigger, unlike here in QC where we only have local channels.

For some reasons, we have to watch a local channel during noontime because it’s Wowowee time. In this gameshow, they have a segment called Willie of Fortune. In this segment, the contestants are usually asked what do they do. If they are kids, they are asked what do their parents do.

This is where my sentiments come in. Oh yes, I’m really sentimental. Hahaha! Most of the time, when the contestant is asked what do their mothers do, the most common answer I heard was “housewife lang po” (housewife only). I got to the point when I got irritated to that answer. I said to our helper one time, “bakit may lang po? Hindi ba nila alam mahirap maging housewife?” (Didn’t they know it’s hard to be a full-time housewife?)

I’m so sensitive about things like this because I, myself is desperate to become a full-time housewife. And I really believe that being a manager of the household is no easy job. In fact, I believe that it is one of the hardest jobs out there. It entails great skills in multi-tasking, budgeting, cooking, and child-rearing, to name a few.

So to those people who have stay-at-home-moms, maybe, the next time you are asked what does your mom do, be proud to say that she is a FULL-TIME HOUSEWIFE. I know there are a lot of people out there who, just like me, want to become a SAHM, but chances are, we just can’t be.

Where do our taxes go?

Text in the envelope: Ma’m and Sir, Pwede po bang makahingi ng konting tulong para sa aming pag aaral?

In the company where I work, we have this Tax Annualization which kicks off every October. The objective is to close the gap between an employee’s tax due and tax withheld.

The tax annualization thing took almost half of my salary every cut-off, which should have been used for my baby’s diapers, perhaps. But no, it went somewhere I can’t see. Taxes should be used for the betterment of our living. But how come we have these?

Road constructions are left for weeks. These causes lots of headache specially for people who drive because they causes traffic. No, let me correct that. Heavy traffic! Aside from that, you know that bumpy roads hurt your car right? Did I already mentioned that such deep holes left unfinished can also give homes to mosquitoes? They can also cause lots of accidents. Ay yay yay!

I just don’t get it why our government has this tendency of starting things and not finishing them.

And if our taxes are being used properly, why do we have lots of beggars? Homeless people: infants, kids, oldies, everywhere! Some, if not most of them, use their kids to beg for food or money.

As I told my hubby about this sad reality, my eyes were almost teary when he shared to me how much his tax was. His was almost as big as my salary for a month! I was luckier. funny videos
