Terrible Twos

We went to the mall yesterday after we finished our itineraries at the hospital. We had a sumptuous lunch in a Shabu Shabu restaurant. After that, we walked around.

Hubby went to a nearby building to check the bag he was eyeing for his airsoft gears so I was left with the two girls. We went inside Payless shoe store and browsed on the shoe display. I did not notice that Maxyn was playing with the tool they use to get boxes located at the top shelves. It fell and she got so alarmed by the sound it made and started crying. Alex then said she needs to pee. After we did that, Maxyn saw a mini playplace and kept on insisting that we go there. But I do not have any money. All our bags are with daddy. The moment I said no, she started yelling and shouting. I told her that we will go to a bigger playland once daddy comes back but she was still insisting.

When daddy arrived, I told him what Maxyn was doing and she never stopped. She likes to get the things she saw likes toys that are for sale. One our way to the bigger playland, she kept on crying and shouting. People we looking at us already. Before, when I tell her to stop crying, she will immediately. But this time, she did not stop.

Well, partly, she was already very sleepy. The other part is, she is already gauging and testing me which things she will be able to get away with when she throws tantrums. I’ve seen that with Alex, even now that she is 5. And no, this mom will not give in. Terrible twos will end when she turns terrific threes. That is a goal.

Where to Go on Holiday?

Many families and holiday makers are using the mid-summer time to plan their vacations. It seems that a lot of people are now waiting until after the high summer season to book.

If you are one of these bargain hunters keep in mind where is still warm at the end of summer. Most of the countries around the Mediterranean have been warmed all summer by the beating sun and although the sun may not be as harsh in September, October time, the ground and sea remain just as warm. This is in stark contrast to the start of summer where the summer sun is in its nascence and the land remains fresh from the winter.

UK destinations Some of the most popular destinations in this area are countries such as Spain, Portugal and the South of France. Anywhere in Sothern Italy and its other Adriatic neighbours such as Croatia are also perfect at this time of year. Moving further south to Greece and Turkey may be a mistake as their dusty, parched countryside still feels the full scorn of the summer sun at this time of year.

Other great destinations to visit in the late summer, early autumn, are the Canary Islands. The Spanish Islands lie just west of the North Coast of Africa and retain their warmth right into the middle of autumn.

All of these destinations would be great for family vacations as they are warm but do not have nearly the health repercussions a more sun drenched destination may incur.

In recent years though, it has become warmer in late summer in the UK, a so called Indian summer. This has helped towards the increase of domestic holidays, if you are looking to keep it local this year www.scottish-cottages.co.uk have some great ideas for places to stay here in the UK.

Hello New Clothes

I was fixing the girls’ clothes and I noticed that many of Maxyn’s have become small. Well, actually, Maxyn got bigger already. Alex, uhm, her clothes now fit Maxyn very well.

So I asked the hubby to bring down the storage box above our cabinet that contains clothes. These clothes are a mix of new and old stuff that were either too big or too small to use. And voila, the girls have new clothes already!

And oh, I found some of my maternity dresses in there too. I took out some that I do not want to use again so they can be donated to those in need.
