Zebra Print Clothing

For some reasons, I am attracted to zebra prints. I simply like the black and white mixed with swirls. Oh, I am into laces too! They give me that sexy feeling, even when I am at my downiest.

Before my sister left for abroad, we went shopping to this nearby mall. It was my first shopping spree for the year. I snugged a few gorgeous tops and one of them is a comfy, cotton top with zebra print and a lacey back. Oh, I haven’t mentioned that I got it for about $3, right? It was a complete steal! I love wearing it with shorts. Now, you can picture my summer look already! 🙂

When Should Kids Transfer Rooms?

For some time now, Alex, our eldest child, has been telling us that she already want her own bed. A pink one with a Barbie headboard. She even tells us that she will sleep on the top row and her sister, Maxyn, will be on the bottom row. We have kidding her that we will simply separate our one single bed from our double bed and that will be hers. As for the Barbie headboard, we will just hire someone who can hand-paint her desired design.

But we haven’t been taking it seriously. Alex and Max has been co-sleeping with us since they were born. And no, they haven’t sleep without one of us, the parents. If I am not there, like when I attended overnight company affairs back when I am working, hubby makes sure he is there. And now that I am a WAHM, I am always there when they go to bed at night. But the recent events kind of make me think if it is already time for the girls to sleep on their own.

Giving children their own room to sleep has its pros and cons, of course. I read that when children are given their own room, they learn to put themselves to sleep on their own, which is an essential life skill. But giving them their own room also means spending. If there is a spare room it is easy to convert it to a child-proof one as long as there are resources. Everything a child needs should be there, perhaps including their own toilet with nice faucets to encourage them to clean their hands after playing. Cabinets, shelves, beds and their other needs should also be there. What if there is no spare room, how do we do it?

But if we go back to my question, when should they leave the parents’ room? Is there a right age? Are there skills I have to look for to tell that my children are ready? Do your children sleep in their own room/s?

Blessed

Every time we are able to go to church on a Sunday as family, I feel blessed. We have been on and off with regards to going to church. Blame it to second collections. We just cannot understand very well where the church’s funds go. Ok. Maybe we do. Let’s just say that asking money the wrong way and for the wrong purpose irks us. Won’t you feel the same?

Anyway, so we attended church last Sunday. And as I say my prayer after communion, I found myself teary-eyed. I just feel so blessed and I am eternally thankful for that.

This first quarter of the year has been a pretty challenging when it comes to our expenditure. There is so much to pay and every time we just paid something, another will come and another. Thankfully, a blessing came and I believe, that is what we have been using.

I want to freak out. I want to be stressed. Without my hubby’s work, I will sure not be able to provide for my children’s needs. I told my hubby how thankful I am for he is the best provider (next to God, of course). He is not complaining but I know he thinks about our finances a lot, specially that we really want to stop renting a house. I want to help in the money matters but I am so doubtful of myself if I can work part-time here at home. What job will I take? Can I do it while the girls are here? Will I be able to juggle work and being a hands-on mom? Surely, I do not want to hand the kids to our helper most of the time. Does that mean I have to work at night till morning? And if they wake up, I cannot go to sleep, right?

Lord, help me discern. Show me your way and help me obey your plans. Amen.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
