Alex’s Stint at the 2015 Total Girl Model Academy

Total Girl Philippines, the first and only lifestyle magazine for tween girls, successfully staged the 2015 Total Girl Model Academy on April 19, 2015 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Palm Drive, where aspiring young models, ages 8 to 13, went through a series of workshops before the go-see finale.

The hopeful participants received a passport upon entering the venue, which guided them through the different stages. Each stage was led by professional mentors who helped them hone their styling and modelling skills. The first stage was the styling studio where they discovered their own style, with the help of Raizel Dy, a fashion stylist and make-up artist who worked in some of the country’s fashion magazines. Then at the second stage, they proceeded to the catwalk class where they flaunted their styles through ramp modelling, proper posture, and personality coaching with Ning Corteza, an instructor of runway modelling, imaging, and visual posing. With everything ready, during the third stage, they learned basic camera posing where they found their best angle with the help of Photography Coach Heidi Aquende, a commercial and editorial photographer. The fourth stage gave them a chance to practice what they learned from the previous stages. The photo booth produced “comp cards,” otherwise known as model’s set cards, for participants to take home as souvenirs. The last stage is the final test of this event: the go-see. Here they applied everything that they’ve learned from the entire workshop, in front of a panel of judges.

From more than 100 young hopefuls, the editorial team of Total Girl will choose 10 winners to be featured in Total Girl’s September 2015 Fashion and Beauty issue. Aside from being featured, the winners will also get special prizes from the sponsors. Though the winners were not yet announced on the event itself, they will be contacted by the Total Girl team in the following days.

Total Girl Model Academy is a great opportunity to empower young girls to live their best tween lives ever- being confident, cool, and fun! This is definitely one memorable summer experience for all who joined as they learned stylish ideas that would help them shine bright.

Princess in Me: A Merry Christmas in SM

Last Friday, our very own princesses got invited to a Royal Ball held at SM The Block Atrium. The area was transformed into a fabulous Royal Princess Hall and my princesses were really surprised. May hint of sadness lang sila kasi si Nanay did not know they were suppose to come in their most fabulous gowns! May next time pa naman.

We were greeted by different beautiful princesses at the entrance.

Then we were ushered to the different booths. Both A and M enjoyed the pampering they received. They got glitter tattoos, nail art, face-painting and hair make-over.

Here are our glammed-up happy princesses.

The princesses also tried sitting on a throne while being presented the glass slipper. A looks so cute in the Barbie photobooth box.

It was truly an afternoon full of fun and surprises. We were among the first ones to witness the majestic lighting of The Princess Tree, which I think is such a unique and glamorous concept. The tree was lighted by SM Prime Holdings Inc President, Mr. Hans Sy, together with pretty little princesses lead by Internet Superstar Kendra Kramer. Other people who graced the event were Ms. Myrna Lao (Founder of Richprime Global), Ms. Millie Dizon (SM SVP for Marketing), Ms. Annie Garcia (SM President of SMSC), Jonjon Agustin (SM VP Marketing) and (AVP for Operations) Mr. Renee Bacani. Kids from Child Haus, also attended the event and they were given an early Christmas present. Child Haus is a temporary shelter for patients of cancer and other diseases who come to Manila for treatment but have no place to stay.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
