My body is already aching and the bed is waiting but I must do this post first before hitting the sack.
I never thought, not in my wildest dreams, that we will be greeting 2013 with a flight and engagement. This is probably the most unusual way of us celebrating the new year. My sister, Toni, is now back abroad after her two weeks vacation. She flew in just to spend the holidays with us. She had to take the January 1 flight because she already has work today and that there are no more cheaper flights. Still, lucky for her that she can do that. My younger brother who also left us to work abroad had to spend his first Christmas away from us because he is bound by contract and it will be too costly if he comes home within that. I must admit talking to him via Skype during Christmas and New Year made me teary eye. Thank goodness our call did not have to last too long because he is also busy.
My uncle flew in also before 2012 ends to mend his love life. He and his girlfriend already had plans of getting married last December but planning did not pushed through as they had this problem with each other. My uncle wanted to come home right then and there at that time but people around him made him realize the consequences of his action. Well, they did not get married last year but they will be this year. This is for sure already. My mom told Toni to already schedule her next flight because she will be a part of my uncle’s entourage. She just left and now, she was already told to come home. Cute, right!
I am not sure if that saying about what you do on new year will be what you do for the rest of the year is true but looks like it will partially be. We spent January 1 at the airport instead of playing our hearts out at Cheekybingo.com where we can win real money even if we play for free! Next week, our uncle will be going back abroad. A day after he leaves, my cousin and grandma will arrive. With God’s grace, after two months, my sister-in-law will arrive to spend the summer with us. After two months again, Toni, my uncle and other uncle and his family will come home for the wedding.
Just typing those makes my brain think about how can we maximize our time together. My cousin will only be here for two weeks also while my grandma will stay here for half a year. My body as well as my princesses are not yet recovered from all the hustle and bustle that we experienced the last two weeks and yet we need to gear up for the coming two weeks. We are tired but we are blissful! Still, I cannot sacrifice my children’s health. Prayerfully, my girls will be a-ok this week, no more fever, cough and colds.
What a long post to start the year, eh? Wait for my 2012 revisited and 2013 goals.
