I Used to Sell Online

Before I knew I can earn money out of blogging, I sell online part-time and made some money.

It started when my eldest child learned how to remove the tapes of her diapers. I knew I had to shift her to pull-up diapers. I was hesitant to buy they at the groceries because the price is ridiculous. So I searched online and found who became my supplier. My supplier was just starting then. The market was unsaturated and competition is low. I saw that a diaper business is very promising given that it will never ran out of customers. There will always be babies needing one and even adults too.

I opened a site online and I was like a pro! It was tiring taking photos of products, editing them and posting them online. But each inquiry I get gives me a high. The transaction is both online and offline. The delivery is offline, of course. I stock up but not a lot since it was just a part-time for me. I was plainly sharing the blessing to other parents out there who wanted to save some diapering costs.

Later on, I met another supplier. This time he is into gadgets. The line of products were quite far but I managed to include them in my site. Everything was on a pre-order basis as I did not want to stock up on expensive electronics at home.

So if you noticed the title of this post, it is in past tense. Well because I kind of stop the business for now. After having our second child, I have very little time in my hands and nobody else can handle the business apart from me.

I still cater to some of my loyal customers but everything is on a pre-order basis. I told them my situation and they full understand. I think this is really important because you do not want your customers to be expecting something that you cannot deliver. I also told my suppliers about that and they told me their terms too and we all agree. I am not their priority now since I am not that regular anymore but when they can accommodate me, they let me know. Somehow, I have maintained a good relationship with them until now.

I really think that that products I used to sell are very sustainable even if the competition becomes tough. Everything will differ in how the transaction is handled and I pride myself to having taken cared of our customers. I really wish someday, I will put life to that sleeping online shop again.

I am participating in a blog campaign for Bucks2Blog for an ecommerce solution company and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

I also have an online shop and have accounts in ebay and sulit.com.ph. More people are shopping online so the future for online shopping is big.

Time seems to really fly by…I’m not good with marketing so this is something that I can’t do—my business would surely go bankrupt! πŸ˜€ Enjoy the rest of the week!
