Wanted: Helper

When I was about to give birth last year, I pleaded to Ate Meriam to come back to us to take care of Maxyn. She agreed provided she can bring with her her youngest daughter, Em. That is not a problem with us so they came back to Manila April of 2010.

When Maxyn was born, Em took care of her while I was at work. Ate Meriam on the other hand took care of the household chores. Later on, we paid Em for taking care of Maxyn. When she is not doing anything, she helps her mom with the household chores. December last year, she went home to Dipolog for a short vacation and to fix her school papers as she plans to study here in Manila. While there, she had an accident. She fell off a motorcycle which caused her a broken arm. Since then, I have asked my brother to stay with us so someone can help in the household chores as Maxyn only lets Ate Meriam or me take care of her.

To cut the story short, I knew Ate Meriam cannot do the household chores and take care of the kids at the same time. For everyone’s convenience, we hired someone who will do wash our laundry and iron them. This person is a good family friend of my husband’s family for a long time now. When she services us, they always give her extra beyond what is due. One time, I told them not to give her much as she might get used to it.

I knew that practice will backfire on us. Yesterday, when she was being handed PhP350, for doing our laundry from 8 AM to 2 PM, with breakfast, lunch and I am sure merienda in between, she said why only that amount. She refused to wash the kids’ dirty slippers as well as the rugs as she’s suppose to wash our clothes only. BUT WE ARE PAYING HER TO WASH THINGS THAT NEEDED TO WASHED, right?

Last night, we talked about it and I was so irked! We have been so kind to this person and I cannot believe what she did.

So now, we are on the hunt for someone who will do our laundry and iron our clothes. Do not worry, our clothes are pretty clean. Hubby does not commute. And while I do, our work does not entail dirty jobs. Our kids do not play in dirt. And when you iron our clothes, everything is already sorted for your convenience.

If you know someone who is looking for work and is willing to do laundry and iron, or better yet, be a house help, please please let me know. We really need one help as soon as possible.

that’s the problem with other people, when they don’t a job they beg to be given one, and when they already have, they will learn to complain and ask for bigger pay. If you don’t give-in you, will grumble a lot or make chismis pa about you..

Sad but that is how it goes. It becomes even sadder when they tell other people nasty things about you which you do not have control of.
