Pretty Barbie Doll Dresses and Shoes

Last weekend, one of our itineraries was to go to the mall, let the girls play some arcade games at Tom’s World, and exchange the tickets we have collected so far for some prizes.

Hubby and I had a chance to stroll on our own as my sister and mom took care of the girls while they were playing. In short, we were not there when Ayex chose the prizes in exchange of the accumulated tickets we have.

She got candies, pens, sharpener, glue and a doll. The doll looks like Barbie, only that Barbie looks way prettier. It is dressed in a blue long dress that feels like a cheap fabric and it is barefoot. (You think you know have an idea how I reacted when I saw it.) My mom keeps on giving me that stop-look because I keep on criticizing the poor doll.

So Ayex finally blurted out. Mommy, bili na lang tayo ng new dress niya at shoes para maganda na siya. (Mommy, let’s just buy her new dresses and shoes to make her pretty). I laughed at the thought. Then she told the same thing to my mom and to my sisters, as if they did not hear her tell me that.

Just a few minutes ago, I searched a popular buy and sell site and I was in awe with what I found. Gorgeous hand-sewn dress for a Barbie doll, matched with free bag and shoes! The designs of the dresses are like our real clothes. Some are probably inspired by what actresses wear! The price ranges from $6-10.

Oh my. Is this the start? Am I ready should I allow Ayex to have this collection? (Maybe I will buy the Barbie clothes instead of my own!) LOL.

I am just thankful that the princess is already sleeping while I was browsing the page. I still have time to think it over and do not let Ayex pressure me. LOL.

Inspired

Lately, many of my contacts in Facebook are publishing photos of their business. Well, while sometimes it gets a bit annoying since they keep on sharing the photos of what they sell over and over again, it is also an opportunity for us, their contacts to see what they have to offer again. (That is such a long sentence, whew!)

Since I have been lurking in Facebook for longer times lately, it got me thinking. I really wonder how much do these people spend as capital for their online-based businesses. Is it that big? Or how small it is? Where do they get their supplies? Which is more salable: food, clothing, toys, or accessories? What do they use to track their stocks, is it something like pc america? If they import, do they have contacts abroad and in the customs office?

I have so many questions because I am inspired to re-open my online store. Yes, I have one too but it has been inactive for almost two years now. I sell mostly gadgets and diapers but I haven’t had time to take care of it so I stopped. But my girls are getting bigger now and their needs are expanding too. I feel like I have to do something I help my husband in whatever way I can. Plus I think selling is something I am good at.

What do you think? Do you have your own online shop? Care to share more about it?

Safe Internet Usage: Read and Practice

Last night, I was on my Facebook wall when I saw several posts from a relative. His post was about Miley Cyrus. His posts looked suspicious because of the image preview. I became more suspicious when I saw he also posted it in his dad’s wall. (I mean, if you are browsing some adult content and you are underage, you do not want your parents to know because you will get reprimanded.) I saw him online and I asked if he is really online. Without waiting for the answer, I asked who is he. My guts was telling me that my relative’s account got hacked. He replied and said he was a classmate of my relative and that he accidentally clicked on something using that account. He said he already texted my relative to inform him. Then I asked the classmate if he knew that he triggered a virus. Then there was no response.

I immediately created a shout-out to my relatives on my wall and in our group warning them about the said link. And I really hope no one clicked the link out of curiosity.

See, that is the problem of this generation’s teeners. They are very curious and they hate taking precautions. They do not think before they click. They do not know what is safe and not. And even if they know, they do not practice it! That is why they end up infecting their accounts and gadgets.

Now, I do not know what will happen to that FB account. Spammers, virus and other malware and online threat are everywhere. If we do not learn how to safely use the powerful Internet, we will end up divulging private things online and we can get into more serious troubles.

Safe Internet usage should really be part of Computer lessons at school and at home.
